Cool feature, is it any e-bike with a Bosch motor that has this feature?
If it is a smart system version!
This is awesome news.
How is this bike without the front suspension? That concerns me a bit
Thanks for the kids bike review. I hope there are more to come over the next few years, as I'm about 2-3 years away from needing to replace my child's relatively new bike.
This bike is quite a de-novation compared to the UA Family anniversary that was available with a swing-arm front fork, which is a much more reliable and more sensitive and adjustable type of suspension. Pros: small improvements like the step-in..
This great but you are taking too long to come to the point.
Thank you, exactly what I needed to know
Aaaaaaahhhhhh, nice a quick concise video about tire pressure and why you should have it at your preferred PSI!!!
Any idea if the Packster will ever get HS? If it gets HS, choosing the Packster over the Load almost becomes a no-brainer.
Splendid video. So many have been waiting and needing this! An offroad cargo ebike that can carry heavy weight for long distance is what all campers and outdoors enthusiasts have been waiting for. This opens up a whole new market for ebike manufacturers. The video we all really need and want to see next is its loaded capacity of 390 in its offroad environment. This is what we have been waiting for for so long. The performance of max load offroad is what this new market should be showing and improving on. 😊
The 390 includes everything so accounting me, and my bike weight, I’m only carrying 140 lbs - more than enough but less than what people think.
How much of the delay in the Multitinker accessory ecosystem is related to potential patent issues with Tern? As it stands now, it feels like the new rain protection is just "eh, ok, whatever" and that they're trying to design around being too similar to Tern.
@@KC-ex7pr there are other rain covers on the market (rad and Yuba make some), so I’m not sure it has anything to do with Tern.
Greetings from Philly. I've been watching your videos since you were in Colorado (?) and I've always enjoyed your content. I think the type of content that would be helpful for moving the bike movement forward would be to showcase how people who don't currently use bikes can incorporate them into their life. I think many people assume that bikes aren't suitable for suburbs and even where you're shooting this video proves otherwise. I also think many people don't realize just how capable these bikes are and simply focus on the price tag and don't realize that they're not buying some souped-up Huffy, but a proper transporter. On a more personal note, I think bike comparison videos are helpful. For example, I have to think that many people go back and forth between the GSD and Multitinker or the Load and Packster, etc. Either way, best of luck and I'm looking forward to your videos!
I’m just about to order my new e-bike and I’m reviewing smart helmets. Your videos are soooo helpful and I’m enjoying your content!!! Thank you!🙏 You are my favourite KZread channel! I wondered if you might be drawing up a comparative database on the various smart helmet options that you are testing which you might share with us (like your excellent cargo bike database). I am keen to only buy MIPS compliant but I’m finding that many countries which don’t require riders to wear helmets don’t say either way. Also, it’d be invaluable if you were able to assess the tech differences between the options. At the moment I’m tossing up between the Unit 1 aura and the Lumos e-bike smart helmet ie both options have MIPS, integrated light&signalling systems and some communication/ iPhone links. As well as these features I’m also interested in integrated camera (for dash cam) and listening to podcasts without compromising my awareness of my surroundings.
Thanks for the comments! Are you thinking this database would live on bikeshopgirl.com, cargobikelife.com or a different website all together? Here is the criteria that matters to me, let me know what you think: Price Weight MIPS Sizes covered by NTA 8776 Lights App integration Extra features For you, I would suggest the Unit 1 and a pair of Jawbone headphones :)
@@CargoBikeLifecomI like your pros and cons. You should include the database on both of your websites in case they have different audiences and I think it would be useful to link from each helmet data section to your review article +video. Also I found your “what’s in the box” discussion v useful since the info on the supplier websites often doesn’t make it clear. For example it was only via your video that I discovered the Unit 1 remote is supplied rather than needing to be sourced separately! So that would be useful to capture in the database.
The packster buggy option is really incredible. Do we know if it’ll be available in the US?
Yes! All 2025 models will have the option.
I like my Aura 1 system overall but like many others that dang power button requires finger tips of steel. If you're having trouble pairing your light bar try the reset function. Turn off the light bar then turn it back on then press the power button 8 times in quick secession. The light bar will flash green if i remember to notify a successful reset. Now retry pairing the light bar and controller.
Would this be the new shop after the death of Cliff Majhor, aka The Sandy Bandit?
Hi! We’re awaiting delivery of our Urban Arrow and I’m getting excited and looking into the essential accessories for a family. We love the sticker on your bike, and have found it on Etsy. My 4yo is thrilled that we could colour it ourselves! What kinds of markers did you use?
That's wonderful to hear! We used these: amzn.to/4cQJXNE They have faded over the first year of use, but easy to reapply!
Needs Bluetooth speaker
weighs a bomb
Awesome informative video. The 6 and 9 year old are pros
grip shifter should be a sufficient reason not to buy this bike. With some hardening due to obvious poor maintenance and sweaty hands, kids don't have enough grip strength to switch back up to shorter gears. Ask me how I know.
1:15 He he, you're 6yo is very cute.
I’d look at the voom. The stem, and rack options are nice. Still looking tho. Nice write up 🙌🏻
My daughter rides the Woom 5, it is a great bike but almost $200 more than this one.
Scott Contessa is a really good value for a 24" kids bike thats a nice alternative to the top 3 brands. I built one recently and was impressed with it compared to the kids bikes I have built from a well known top 3 brand.
Scott for sure has some great kids bike, but I'd prefer a scale RC 400 or 600 with rigid fork, much lighter.
@@markotrieste Contessa 24 comes in rigid version.
Thank you! I haven't been able to find one locally to me to check out. I'll keep looking!
Not just a review, but a thoughtful and super helpful discussion about what to look for in a kid's bike in general. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
I wish we were buddies, Arleigh. Community is king! Or queen, or whatever…😊
The Virgo helmet is the same price with chin protection.
Have you tried one? I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet!
Hey with your inspiration, my daughter and I spent 7/4 morning riding to Publix for lunch. It was a bit awkward to order and pick up food, but overall, we had a good time and didn't need a car for the trip. :)
That is awesome!!!!!!
Yup. I don't think I even have "bike clothes", just my everyday clothes.
I love that Tern has built up onto of the Quick Haul platform. I love the quick haul and this seems like a nice way to get close to a GSD-lite. The quality of life features are great, and I love them on my HSD, but the added capacity is probably most important so it’s nice Tern has a solution for that.
Great video, thank you ! Now we need an updated GSD !
Yeh, agree!
This is a light motorcycle with cargo carrying capability. No wonder the word "bike" is used for both bicycle and motorcycle.
I would like to know about gps tracking systems other than apple air tag. It’s good to think outside the box. However the drawback is it won’t track unless your phone is nearby. I am interested in a stealth device that would track continuously. Thank you for your video.
It's good to be on borrowing terms with the neighbours. I'm more ride to town or do without.
i regularly see the non assisted version lightly used around 2500 euros. that's honestly doable
Yes, a front suspension fork!!!
Yep. If there's a bike rack, I'll use it, otherwise I'm pulling up to the door (or playground, since so many parks don't have a bike rack).
Thanks so much for this informative video. Which dual stand does fit the 2024 HSD S00? I’m looking to upgrade mine as soon as possible.
Gen 2 or gen 3
@@CargoBikeLifecomsorry I’m just ordering a new bike in Australia and didn’t realise there was a gen 3. So I’m guessing it’s a gen 3 but not sure!🤔
Do you know if or when Gen 3 is released for sale in Australia yet??? 🧐
I did not like your first review, but this one is much better. 😅 Also good to know that only 2 lights can be paired with one helmet, cause I couldn't find that information and I haven't tried even if I have access to 2 pairs of lights. Overall the helmet and lights are amazing. Quality is on point and I for one did not have trouble with support. Sofia was more than helpful. I now hope that they bring something even better than this. (Not the new one though, but better than the Aura) 😅
Looks like a worthy update to the existing Urban Arrow lineup. Will be interested to see what you think when you finally get to ride one!
Another improvment would be great : cable steering for more agility !
As a mechanic, I’ll never own a cable steering bakfiets.
Always park your bike as close to the door as possible, never on the other side of the lot if you can help it.
The only thing that truly keeps me away from the Urban Arrow is the Enviolo hub. I'm all for ease of use with chain belt drives, and I'm also all for the easy shifting curve for not experienced riders; that being said, this bike is entirely too heavy to handle anything greater than a 6 percent grade. If they either went more upmarket with a Rohloff hub or did what Riese and Muller did and offer traditional 12 gears as a "Touring" option I would buy it. I rented an Urban Arrow before my final purchase of R & M Load 60 and I loved it; but I live where hills can be up to 12% grades and this bike is impossible to climb even with the powerful 85nm motor assistance.
I hear ya. I rode the Trek Fetch+ 4 a few days ago on a 15% grade. I live in “flat” Kansas and the hills on my journey home are over 16%. Today I demoed an Urban Arrow, and while significantly more peppy than the Trek (a laborious 165lb lug), imho the Enviolo CVT is just not suited to hilly areas. Manufacturers should offer either a higher pinion/spur ratio or a different gearbox altogether.
Why not upgrade the kickstand! I lockable stand like the GSD has would be great. the Gazelle makki load has one, and it works very well, a very stable kickstand. I also love my auto enviolo gears, so to have that as an option would have been nice. looks very nice If I didn't already have an only 1.5yo UA I would consider this.
you are right. As a bike shop, we have the choice of making it spring up by itself for better usability, but then it will not stand so well.. or we can make it tighter but then you have to push it up every time.
How entitled of you to block the walkway
I’m in the mulch😂
You're only here to comment something nasty against bikes. You probably do it so often, now the algorithm keeps showing you bike videos because it thinks you love them.
Thats a glorified bicycle, why not?
Those Bakfeits are really cool, just hard to move around.
Agreed! It’s not for everyone but very stable if you can deal with the bulk.
Look great. I see some influence from Lovens, but overall good update.
