Marius Hornberger

Marius Hornberger

Videos about woodworking, homemade machines, wood-turning, making jigs, and more stuff from me out of my small basement workshop. I try to post one video a week or at least once every two weeks...but I don't really care about a fixed upload schedule because I produce my videos with a lot of editing. And I spend as much time as it takes until I think the video is finished. So yeah, I upload when I upload.
You probably will see more videos about making tools for woodworking than actual woodworking projects...that's kind of my interest.

About me:
I'm just a 27-year-old German guy who just graduated in engineering.

If you want to see project updates in between the videos, you can follow me on Instagram: instagram.com/marius.hornberger/

Sooo when are we going to be able to purchase one? Also, when we are going to see the part 2 of the “whole” project. I guess it a next level work bench!

Why not just drill access holes for the screws and then print TPU plugs? The kind of engineering in this video is what infuriates people that have to fix equipment.

So u bought the wrong part. Spent hours fucking around trying to make it work. Why did u buy a part in 1st place? U would have been better off just starting from scratch. I love the vid lots of nice upgrades but some things u do baffle me.

Ok I take it back, I really love what you do and I think I WANT to do it too, but this seems like an ungodly amount of work lol (still I know I would xD). I think the rope cutter with an electric arc is just chef kiss, I want one, and the slow closing mechanism is a must 100% what do you mean not necessary xD. Really love your channel coming from your latest vid is amazing to see how you build everything up over the years PS: glad to see your frustration process is the same as mine and I must be doing something right I guess :P

Here is my feedback, I would have the same equipment as you and do the same projects as you if I had the recourses for it, for that this is 100% my kind of video if you make 100, regardless of length I will watch them all, now that I have finish this one I will continue to watch the rest of your channel, this is an amazing project, you weren't kidding with that title! xD

So damn cool and the first video longer than 30 mins that I watched without skipping anything, definitely not too long. The engineering skill top notch and so cool you could make this with your somewhat limited facilities.

Should put up all the design plans for the final version up on your patreon. Or even just out for free if you feel like it, since, as you said, it is a one off. Maybe patent it instead and license it to a wood working tools company or two.

This was my first time watching one of your videos but it sure as hell won't be the last! I had to watch the whole video in one go - and no, it wasn't too long. Very informative, interesting and entertaining too. Not many people can do that. Fantastic.

It just occured to me that for plastic to metal contact points, a layer of stainless steel tape around the gears outer edge could be a thing, accounting for the offset of the tape thickness. A rotating jig with a shape mold could be made to apply the tape. Not sure how connecting the ring of tape for a continuous surface would work. Either the tolerance has to be very small, or a small bead of low melting temp solder could fill the gap 🤔 Regardless, if the metal tape is used, it should be way smoother and last much longer.

this doesn't matter, buuut: 12 51/127ths is the worst measurement they could have gone with. 127ths?! really? is what, ~ 0.0000124 that hard to take off? they made it sooo close to common measurements of 128ths. 12 51/128ths is 12.3984375 heck, go the ~0.0016 inch larger than 51/128ths and you get 13/32nds! i even have that in a drill bit size, its not that uncommon, but nooo felder just HAD to go and make it sooo close. ...lol like i said, its silly. really cool saw by the way!!! im actually shopping and trying to find a small cabinet saw with a rolling table. Maybe someday i will get that ulmia 1712r...

Bravo! I have watched you grow up. From an enthusiastic young woodworker building Mathias Wandels bandsaw, through the years to ever more complex projects. And, now you have become a sincere, articulate, humorous, interesting, educational and informative teacher of engineering concepts and innovation. I think you have made a wonderful transformation of yourself into a master craftsman as well. Not just in the projects, but videography, project planning, technology utilization, and resource utilization. You have turned yourself into a one-man university for autodidacts. I highly commend you and your great parents. You are the blessed son all would want to have. May you "prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers". Peace be upon you always. And never stop teaching and sharing.
