Marius, I’m sure your Grandfather is glad to see you upgrading his drill press and especially that you are going to be using it. I’d put a little sign on it, "Grandpa’s Drill Press”.

Man that is a very sturdy, very well designed drill press! It deserves all the love and attention, even more because it came from your grandpa. Make him proud and use that tool to make awesome projects.

Your grandfather would be proud of you, I love the idea of disassembling the old bearing to press in the new one. I never thought of that. Great video!

Awesome rebuild... I especially like the way you sunk the base into the cabinet... I just bought a new drill press, and I may attempt that "sinking procedure"...

I had one very similar, Hare and Forbes, maybe only 10 years old. I felt exactly the same as you about the changing of belts and it was a blessing in disguise when the tensioning lever sheared off. Pulled it apart to salvage whatever useful bits there were (so many parts look identical to yours) and bought a direct variable speed drive Nova Voyager to replace it. Excellent tool, worlds apart from what I had. Looks like a great conversation you've done, nice job!

Endgeil, wie sich am Ende der Schraubstock "selber" zusammenbaut!!! Viel Arbeit für das Stückchen Film, aber super gemacht!! Insgesamt tolle Restauration. Und dem Opa ein Andenken gesetzt. Lob und Anerkennung!!

I'm always impressed with old motors. They were overengineered and really just last forever. Great editing!. We love your content, love your projects, but REALLY love the presentation. A week of filming cut down to 16 minutes, but such a good watch!

Great upgrade!!! I just had the chance to restore one very similar to your, that i got for free from a neighbor. It was standing out at the yard for years so it was rusted and full of crap. Had so much fun restoring it!!

Very nice video. I have to get such an old drill press, they used to know how to make these things. And congrats to the animation of the self assembling vice.

Excellent work, and I really like the analog tach. For my drillpress, I'm going to scavenge a DC treadmill motor and install it to eliminate the belt changing issue.
