    Wow, I was wondering when someone would finally make replica STI sills. The real ones aren’t that thick either and that’s why you see a bunch of dented sets for sale. $385 is a steal in my opinion.

    I'm currently fixing the new one I installed just a few months ago that's already seized. I got the shaft out and used a scotchbrite and a sonic cleaner to get everything cleaned, but there is one brass, one steel, and one plastic shaft collar that came out with my shaft that I don't know how to reinstall. Any tips there?

  • @802Projects

    You need to buy/build a boost leak tester and check for leaks with soapy water. Likely you have a big leak or many smaller leaks somewhere. Rear turbo o-ring, and throttle body shaft seals are common spots. I would look on 3si for vacuum reduction diagrams too. The less hoses the less spots there are for leaks.

    Superb video, thankyou for sharing that knowledge so thoroughly. Ive jsut had a 6 speed box rebuilt and a new Exedy clutch fitted, it feels way better but it crunches into second, unless I hold the clutch down for a little longer and pause before selecting the gear. I have a few places to start looking now, thank you! I am really hoping it is an adjustment or leaking slave or master cylinder rather than an issue with the rebuilt box.

    How do I turn off my stereo. I have a Sony xav-Ax3005DB. My second question is how can i turn off the stereo. Mine is on all the time even when I pull the key out. Is there anyone who can help me.

  • @802Projects
    @802Projects4 ай бұрын

    You probably have it wired up wrong. There is a constant +12v wire and an ignition wire (which only reads +12v when ignition is on). Likely you have them reversed.

  • @A-IGarage
    @A-IGarage4 ай бұрын

    @@802Projects Can you please explain me how I need to wire the Ignition. How can I contact you? Do you have Facebook, I can show you how I connected the wire.

  • @802Projects
    @802Projects4 ай бұрын

    Look up the manual for your radio. If you do page 27 shows Yellow as constant +12v. Meaning even when your car is off it has 12v. This constant feed allows your radio to maintain it's settings and radio presets. Red is switched +12v. So when you turn the key to on, it allows you to turn on your radio. My guess is you have those two wires swapped which is why you can turn your radio on with your car off.

    Thanks for your video. With this guidance I was able to remove, clean and fix, and replace the seized rear wiper motor. Saved a packet of cost at the garage! You're missing a few useful tips, like how the jet nozzle just pulls out of the spindle, but you've got the essentials. Great stuff. PS. What's the mousetrap for - you got mice nesting in the air filter?!!

  • @802Projects
    @802Projects4 ай бұрын

    The video was kind of an afterthought. I already had it out when I started. And yes I do get mice in my Volvo sometimes. Maybe once every other year. They like to build a nest in the rear folding seat area. I'm not sure how they get in. I have put some balled up wire in the AC drain tube and glued screens over the rear vent boxes. If you have any ideas on how else they can enter I'd love to hear them.

    I’m not sure if I missed it, but I am curious as to why you and other videos i’ve watched do the base duty cycle map as all one single value and tune it via comp table… is this only touched if there are random holes in the map or what?

  • @802Projects
    @802Projects4 ай бұрын

    People think in terms of boost. "I want to run 20 pounds of boost" vs "I want to run 43% wastegate duty cycle." The comp table does the translation. That's why people use it. The big map is used to help build the comp table. After that it's zero'd out.

    For my LHD car I am running the OEM Lexus filter 88880-30040. Another customer is running an aftermarket filter from rockauto, part# ATP RA116. RHD cars take a different filter as it needs to bend the opposite way. Working with someone right now to confirm that filter part#.
