Best Fitting TRD Wing for the Toyota Supra - Reviewing the IBS replica

Ойындар

I've tried 3 different TRD spoilers on my Supra. I'm a fussy person and always want the best for my cars. I normally buy OEM when possible, but that isn't really an option anymore for this wing. Plus the original did not come with a carbon fiber center.
In my option the best replica as of May 2022 is made by a company called IBS in Russia. trd3000gt_r is their Instagram handle and they are also on Supraforums.com (screen name Amigos).
To me it checks all the boxes:
- Sits flush on the hatch
- Very symmetrical. Blade is level, uprights spacing and lean looks the same left to right.
- Uses 12mm studs and stainless plates like the original spoiler
- side caps mount using threaded inserts vs screws into raw fiberglass
- Carbon weave looks perfect
In this video I do a full walk around review of the spoiler highlighting it from every angle. If you want to see some fitment issues on other TRD spoilers I tried, please check out my blog post:

For $1700 and you still needed to modify certain aspects of it for your taste of “perfect” is a lot of money…(this dad btw and I own a MKIV Also).

The sanding prep work would be true of any fiberglass part. Hopefully the one threaded insert not lining up right was a fluke. Maybe they could have swapped it out or fixed it, but I didn't want to deal with shipping a part back to Russia for something I could do myself. If you check the blog post in the description you will see what I dealt with trying some of the cheaper spoilers.

@@802Projects understand. Yea I follow your blogs often for input on things I may want to tackle. Pretty underrated supra content if you ask me. $1700 just a hefty price tag for a non-Toyota part but I can appreciate finding what’s best for you. Mine was oem until few months ago my toddler opened the garage door with my trunk open and sure enough center blade destroyed 😑. Looking for a replacement now or a body shop to attempt to fix.
