Tuning my Supra on AEM EMS V2: Part 6 Boost

Ойындар

In this video I go over setting up the Boost tables in AEM. I cover building the comp tables, the target tables, error correction and setting up Boost By Gear. I discuss how a turbocharger, wastegate, and boost controller work. I even touch on how I set my Supra to read the vehicle speed signal off of an ABS sensor because the normal speed sensor signal was not stable.

Enjoy the content man, even though I just found your channel it's in the right time. I've used AEM V2 before for adjusting idle and fuel after already being tuned but now I'm on a new platform and adjusting boost/fuel for a new turbo/fuel setup and this video is doing wonders to help me understand all the tables. However I'm on an S2K but the foundations you show in here are great. I was going to be doing my boost the old method (where it shows -50 in the table) until I found your video. Long winded comment but appreciate you!

Thanks again for the meticulous videos. Your explanations really help demystify some of the workings of these ECUs. Will you be adding the timing video you mentioned at the end of this boost control one?

I plan on doing one on timing and virtual dyno, and then a final one on launch control and NLTS. I also may tie in some AC troubleshooting into the final one as I had to repin a wire at the ECU because the delivered A/C pin on mine is either documented wrong or doesn't work on my ecu.

@802Projects that's awesome looking forward to it. At the moment I'm wrestling with a cranked but no start issue, that a previous owner addressed by running a wire between the Ignition fuse and the Main EFI Relay. That wire got loose and the car wouldn't start, or would break up on boost. I didn't know that the wire was even there. Now I gotta see why it was added.

Thanks for this video series, really appreciate it!👍 Did you ever record a 7th video for this series? Also are you familiar with AEM ems V1? If so, how different are the two (V1 and V2)? I have a V1 in my 89 Mk3 but it is not fully tuned, and it's been difficult to find a tuner for it out here on Long Island.

I've only got videos through dialing in boost. I haven't done a timing specific video yet. Maybe this summer. I also wanted to do one on launch control and no lift to shift. I've never used v1 before.

I’m not sure if I missed it, but I am curious as to why you and other videos i’ve watched do the base duty cycle map as all one single value and tune it via comp table… is this only touched if there are random holes in the map or what?

People think in terms of boost. "I want to run 20 pounds of boost" vs "I want to run 43% wastegate duty cycle." The comp table does the translation. That's why people use it. The big map is used to help build the comp table. After that it's zero'd out.

@@802Projectsi gotta finish watching this video (again) and reserve any more questions. I appreciate the reply, just looking to get a solid understanding so i am more methodical with dialing boost in rather than hip firing until it is right
