    I am an example of the necessity of x ray. My chiropractor, who practices Gonstead, of course x-rayed my spine and found that I have bone spurs from my upper thoracic to my upper lumbar spine. He told me he would not have known it without the x-ray and further that he would not adjust those areas of my spine because it could lead to breaking my back. From that conversation, I assume had I gone to a chiro who does not x-ray, theoretically I could have come away with a broken back.

    I love your info. I’m learning not all chiropractors are created equal after a yr of trying to heal. I’m miserable and I’ve spent so much money on so many different ones. I’m desperate to find the issue and no one seems to fix me. 😢

    As a LMT I can adjust my own back after icing and get relief I need. Things I don't want are: x-rays, and horrible drop tables. It's hard finding those who are really really good at chiropractic. I've had a great one who retired and haven't found great one since.

    It's amazing some of the horrible claims chiropractors in Texas claim, claiming to cure such diseases as ankylosing Spondylitis. I wasted money for 20 years being totally misdiagnosed. Finally I found a chiropractor who told "don't let a chiropractor touch your neck" It's rare here to find one who will admit when he is over his head. They even sell various snake oils and overpriced supplements. Sad lack of character so often.

    Sincere request. Please reply. A guy with skinny forearms wants to do forearm exercises to look decently masculine. So elbow flexions are a must, right? No upright rows of course. So would you say PREHABING the elbow extensors with your recommended exercises every alternate day then doing elbow flexions every other day is a smart way to avoid injuries and get to look decently male (no embarrassing skinny forearms) in a few months?

    idk if my symptoms is tennis elbow or not, as you mention if I stretch my hand and press down the middle finger, I don't feel any pain in the elbow area. However I feel constant tingling on my ring and pinky finger especially if I bring my arm up. But, thanks for the video, I think I want to train my arm with some exercise/massage you share here, I already have some of the equipment and would love to try that.

    Very nicely done - well organized a la Chubby Emu style. ;) Glad to see another video from you. My only question would be - you mentioned she felt she should have braced for the impact better. Would this have made a difference or could it have caused other issues?

  • @GonsteadSpineWellness
    @GonsteadSpineWellness3 ай бұрын

    Exactly! Chubbyemu was my inspiration! I should have touched on that more- you are right. ALWAYS brace for impact. Bracing engages the muscular system, sparing the ligaments from taking all of the brunt of the force. Ligament injuries are more catastrophic than a muscular injury. Always brace if you can!!!

    More research can be helpful for sure, but if you are familiar with what the “Evidence Based Practice” model is comprised of… its three things: 1) research 2) clinical/ clinician experience and outcomes 3) patient values (what the patient wants and experiences as a result) One third is comprised of “research”, making it important, but not the ONLY factor. With that said- we practice in an extremely evidence based approach- please watch this video and better understand the guidelines of instability that are cited: these are AMA Guideline figures, this was identified in a Chiropractic clinic (ours) and missed in the ER. We simply follow the standard of care and ensure we don’t skip these critical steps, this benefits our patients in order to achieve a proper diagnosis so that appropriate treatment can be delivered: whether it’s within our scope or requires co-management with other medical professionals.

I have a manial job so I just seem unable to rest it without aggrivating it. Any ideas on what I could do at the moment just have to keep a cold compress on it to stop the pain.

    I have had a chronic serious case of tennis elbow...started researching 6 months ago and have found many channels that have helped me improve tremendously. Some of these channels are, Precision Movement, MoveU, Ocramed Health, Physiotutors, You Fix Pain, Move Well Live Well Dr. Wil & Dr K, El Paso Manual Physical Therapy, [P]rehab, All Things PT, and Activ Chiropractic. This segment right here ties everything together.....shows me how and why to use the straps and the connected two ball thing that I have had and just been looking at because I didn't know how to use it. This really escalates my healing. You are an expert, thank you....added sub.

    I've never had the Y-strap before, but I will tell you that I have had a chiropractor put a towel around my neck before and pull. I felt better than I ever have with that certain adjustment. The other adjustments of manipulation of a single joint also works if you go to a good chiropractor. But how many good chiropractors are actually out there ?? Hmmm, I would guess, Not many. I do understand your way of doing things and maybe , hopefully I can get someone like you to help my situation out with my spine. I have had problems for years now and the only thing that ever seemed to help was the towel pull. But I am open to any and all adjustments if possible. Thank You for your explanations on the Y-strap.

    Listen to the video again. It’s because one side of the forearm gets stronger than the other side which causes an imbalance. This is where therapy comes in.

  • @ErinLady85

    In UK I was recommended by the therapist to not massage as this might flare up. Also, does loading with planks or yoga escalate the symptoms? I want to do Pilates or yoga but I afraid it will make it worse (therapist is not committing to an answer on this, she is really annoying )

    Thank you so much…. I got my tennis elbow from exactly the same reason you did - upright rows !! Will never put myself in that position again. And I did intuitively start using ankle straps on my wrists last week (before I saw your video) to help me do the same exercises without needing to grip and cause more pain in the extensor muscles. Extension is Life - AMEN to that !!
