Chiropractor REACTS to CHIROPRACTOR - Gonstead Doctor Accused of MISLEADING the Public

In today’s video, Dr. Todd responds to some accusatory comments made by a fellow Chiropractor. You may have seen KZread videos entitled, “doctor reacts to chiropractor”, and this gets tons of clicks to hear what in the world will be said. This video is a bit of a twist, this is a “chiropractor reacts to chiropractor”.
You may be watching this with the thought of, “should I go to the chiropractor”. This response video is meant to CLARIFY that our unique combination of techniques does not represent “The Gonstead Method” as a whole, rather, the Gonstead Method is the foundation of what we do at our clinic, to address ONE of THREE components of patient health.
The Gonstead System addresses the SEGMENTAL piece of what we aim to improve. Watch this video to see the other TWO components and how we put this all together. This is a great video for the layperson, interested patient, or Chiropractic student, as well as a seasoned practicing Chiropractor.

Gonstead + Biophysics + Functional movement is the future of Chiropractic. Triple threat system. Amazing :)

Wow! Great insight! You’re right. I would imagine just trusting that someone will be able to find proper care on their own is a real gamble. Rolling the dice as you say. In my opinion, that would be doing the patient an injustice. Great response to the Gonstead Troll.

We will be our own demise because of our internal bickering with who does what the best. Instead of leading by diagnosis, most lead by treatment. In my opinion, treatment should be based on a proper diagnosis not on what my treatment modalities may or may not be. Keep up the good work. What your doing is the future of conservative spine care. Don't sweat the haters!

"You're ruining the work." Ran that through translate. Comes out as "You're making me uncomfortable because I see how I'm not doing enough but I don't want to take on more work." Or as I say about myself in my line of work: people who feel intimidated by you always lash out to try to knock you down a peg because they don't like seeing that you're not as miserable as them. Seriously though, one roof philosophy is the best. If you were already sending people out to others to support the correction - that's like trying to learn to swim by getting one swim coach to teach you breathing, another to teach you how to move your arms, and a final one to teach you how to kick. How is that suppose to be effective? Under one roof - you're under the same supervision of the same doctor who knows the story of your spine and can best help you through the other parts post-adjustment. As a (soon to be) patient, I see zero problem with this. I'll definitely be calling in about a week once my schedule isn't so erratic. Thanks for taking such good care of my co-worker! Her smile is back and she looks so much more relieved! :)

You are doing a great job, keep it up. Spinal biophysics works well in combination with specific Gonstead care. Glad to see you advancing to what you feel is in the best interest of your patients.

I watched the whole thing and about 3 minutes of the video a second time. What you are talking about has been being done for years. Nothing new. Every Gonstead practitioner that I know believes in rehab and better posture instruction. They aren’t stuck in the 60s. Restore healthy curves? I have heard this for years and have yet to see that you can change curves very much unless we are talking about antalgic situations and heel lift work. You are so smart that you are the only Gonstead guy that does rehab. Sales pitch BS.

“Find it. Fix it. Leave it alone” doesn’t really apply here. The clarification was necessary. Would like to check out the practice sometime!

When someone is doing great work like you are Todd, there will always be many critics that are too god damn lazy to improve there practice; so they criticise you to justify their lazy ass mediocre practice. It might be lonely at the top, but what an amazing view. Bravo 👏👏Dr. Todd, I’m so very proud of you !!!

I'm mad at myself for just discovering you. It is envied that you have developed Dr Gonstead's methods. Because there are those who do this work only by imitation. I also like and prefer Dr Gonstead's methods. I'm just lacking in implementation because I don't own a Nervo-Scope. I have to go out of gonstead methods in traksion. and that pushes me to blend different disciplines. There are times when I even recommend hijama. There is a world of knowledge to learn from you and I will be waiting for more videos from you.

Great video Doc. Thanks for clarifying. As you know, you and I followed very similar paths (although your education and training far outpaced mine). I was initially drawn to and trained in the Gonstead protocol, followed and trained under some amazing Gonstead practitioners and witnessed some amazing results. That being said, I too felt there may have been something more that I could offer my patients beyond the powerful analysis and application of the Gonstead adjustment. In my quest to learn more, I discovered Drs Don and Deed Harrison and Chiropractic Biophysics (CBP). I felt that the research and clinical papers that CBP presented were game changers in Chiropractic (and in any field dealing with spinal analysis and treatment). I implemented and treated using both techniques in my office for over 15 years and saw fantastic results. I was aware of the benefits of Functional movement analysis but never spent any time learning it to any extent because, quite frankly, I didn't want to overwhelm myself and my staff with more protocols and more work. Seeing that you have extensively learned and successfully implemented all three techniques into your practice for the betterment of your patients is very admirable. I was trained at Mt Horeb (Gonstead's Clinic) many times and each time was blown away by all the research, time and dedication that Dr. Clarence Gonstead put forth to help as many people as possible. It was truly amazing what he accomplished and how he revolutionized the profession and left a respectable legacy. That being said, I too believe that like all good practitioners, Dr. Gonstead would have continued to learn and evolve. The man was the ultimate student and I don't think he would have ignored valid research and clinical results because he was set in his own ways. Like you said, you use the Gonstead technique but are not pretending that CBP and Functional training are under the traditional "Gonstead umbrella". Good practitioners continually learn and evolve, not for themselves, but for those entrusting them with their health care needs. Well done my friend. To my "pure" Gonstead friends, you may not prescribe to the other techniques/treatments used above, that is alright, the "Find it, Fix it and Leave it alone" philosophy is still life changing for many and still very commendable.
