Wow, I am amazed, that is perfect and beautiful!
Can they both engrave alluminium and steel? I am wanting to engrave keyrings. Great video!
The IR on both of them can etch on metal. Some metals can be marked easier than others. The 2watt IR lasers are fairly weak so you can only expect it to scratch the surface of the metal (etch), not engrave it.
Thank you so much for your reply. Could you recmend one that would be suitable to those materials please? Thank you so much.@@MonkeyWoodworks
Hey what's your method for getting your design centered with an existing logo like the Yeti
Tape! If you see in the video, i have painter's tape above and below the logo I engraved. I mark on the tape my center and edges of the logo. I then use the framing feature to make sure my engraving is between the marks.
@@MonkeyWoodworks thank you sir
Thank you somuch for the video! You helped me ALOT!
You are very welcome!
Any idea of the overall dimensions of the machine with the riser base? Lid up and Lid down? 🙃
Yes. I added the requested information to my shared material settings google sheet. Check out the any of my P2 video descriptions for a link to it. I have lots of information in it.
@@MonkeyWoodworks awesome thanks!
You are welcome!
Would you happen to have a video for an M1xtool on how to engrave and score using the raiser on second and third level. I’m using 3/4 thick wood but I want to score and engrave it
I do not have a video specifically showing it however, when I need to engrave on a large piece, I lift up my M1 and literally set it down on top of the large piece, set the height to 0mm and engrave directly on top of the surface the M1 sits on. Maybe that will help?
new laserpecker, the grave speed is 4000mm/s
I saw that, good for them matching the speed to get a closer comparison making it a tough decision between the two. It was not the case during the making of this video.
@@MonkeyWoodworks good company, and it upgrades very quickly, and it will releases L5 this year.
My heart just sank when that stupid black pin fell out and I had no idea what it did or where it came from. Thank you so much for this video!
You are welcome! Glad it was helpful.
What engrave air assist percentage do you use
Expand the description of this video. Scroll down and find the link to my Material Settings document. Inside that document, you will find my air assist settings used for engraving and a lot more.
Super presentation, massively helpful thank you
Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you, I needed that!
You're so welcome!
DON”T DO IT! Support is horrible. If a an issue arises and shared by email support, they end up blaming you for the issue or will not acknowledge the problem. I will be making a product review (paid from my own pocket) and it will not be positive.
Thank you for your feedback and sorry to hear you had so much trouble! I am a member of their FB groups and I have seen MANY issues around firmware updates and support issues (or lack of).
@@MonkeyWoodworksCorrect, there are many issues with private, paid WeCreat owners versus sponsored users not sharing the full scope of things. From day one with my first unit, I reported a damaged power cord; the connection was too loose, and any movement would disconnect the cord from the laser. The feedback from support was that it was my fault, reasoning that I had moved the laser around too much. I only moved the laser twice: once from unpacking and a second time to its main location. Still, they blamed me for damaging the cord. I was also blamed for the focus point not being accurate on a second unit, even after calibration. I was told the camera is accurate and that I need to learn how to use the laser. I was also told to tilt the laser when removing and inserting the crumb tray and to tie a string on the handle. These are just a few examples of the many problems I encountered with two of the WeCreat units. I kept all correspondence and will use it during my review of WeCreat. I can say unequivocally that WeCreat refuses to take ownership of any realistic issues caused by faulty workmanship and design flaws. Even on WeCreat live streams, during the Q&A sessions towards the end, many issues brought to their attention were ignored or they pointed the finger at the end user. Sadly, WeCreat has a product that could have succeeded in this saturated laser market, but they continue to rush products out the door before fixing existing issues and then turn around to blame the end user for the problems. I am carefully working on my WeCreat review and making sure the t’s are crossed and i’s are dotted. I don’t believe folks really know the other side of WeCreat, only receiving limited info from paid sponsors. I hope to shed some light on this. My intention for the review is to make it clear to the buyer what they may face when things do go wrong. And the hopes WeCreat will take into account how they are treating their customers after the sale and make changes to better serve by overhauling the support department. Until then, I will continue to say, don’t purchase a WeCreat laser.😎
I really like how are in depth and explain everything
Thank you! I feel I talk and explain too much haha.
So do you have a new video using the 2.0 using creative space and do you like it?
I use it but haven't done a video on it yet. I really like the changes, just not the layouts.
Using the scrap as a hanging guide is brilliant!
Thanks! I started doing that a long time ago when I made scrollsaw names and incorporated it into this process.
Thanks so much for the vid. I love that you give a fair comparison. Im looking into laser engraving and these both seem like good entry machines. New subbie 🙂
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! FYI, the LP4 now says they match the speed of the F1. Good luck in deciding which one to get!
I’ll be looking for more of your videos thanks I really appreciate your videos 😊
Thank you so much for your kind words and support! If you ever have any questions, shoot me a DM or ask here.
I’m in houston as well it seems we loose power more often than not……
Man it sure does seem that way!
Great video and helpful, cant waiting to get my laser and try it
Thank you!
Awesome video pal!!! Very helpful. Your the man!!! 💪
Glad you liked it!
Great work michael. Love the use of the conveyor, this may get me to actually take mine out of the box
It is a must-have for making large items.
Easy when machines are given to you. What about those who have to buy machine
As someone who has purchased all their machines, don't discount the fact that Mike has worked his ass off to get to a point where he would even be considered for such a thing.
Actually, it is easy for everyone.
Thank you for this video. I didn’t know there were four long screws. I had a whole bunch of short screws… it got me back on the right track
You are welcome! Feel free to DM me if you need additional help
Good info. Lucky for me, it was just my neighbor discovering that the battery contacts needed cleaning.🤞
Nice! Those kinds of fixes are always the best kind.
Can you do that photo view on the M1? 🤔
Sorry, I don't fully understand your request.
Can you cut directly over the conveyor roller tracks ?
Yes you can. That's why it's important to have the right rail inside the P2 under the laser head path
do you engrave on the painted or non painted side?
I did it on the painted side. You can always experiment and find out which way works best. Let me know the results if you do!
@@MonkeyWoodworks I did do it on non painted side and didn't have much detail show up. And I've tried, chalk paint in a spray can and brush on with a piece of wood underneath to give the laser something to reflect back. But I am also using a snapmaker machine which I really don't care for. But can't quite afford an xtool at the moment.
@liquidlightning101 All diodes will have a similar result due to the laser type. Honestly, a CO2 is the best way to engrave acrylic (especially acrylic). Unfortunately, they are $$ as you nay know.
@@MonkeyWoodworks ya my wife bought me a K40 and after I had to replace the laser tube and the new one not lasting as long. I wasn't too happy with it. But still have it, may need to get another tube for it and use both
@liquidlightning101 Ah. That's too bad. I wonder if the tube quality matters on it?
I seen you highlight images then set to ignore. How are you doing that? What are you clicking after highlighting? Thanks The topper looks good.
Yea, sorry about not capturing the entire screen. To tell xcs to ignore an object on the screen, pick it, then turn off the output using the output toggle button on the right menu.
Thank you it worked. This will make large files easier to process.
@@jmarcant616 awesome! Make sure you check out my XCS video for a review of all the features in XCS. Once the new version comes out, I will make a new one.
Thank you for the video. I followed your instructions by replacing 3 original SLA batteries to the 3 new Mighty Max Battery ML15-12, and the mower battery indicator only shows 1 LED bar, even though I measured the voltage at the "Safety Key" connectors and it shows 38 volts. The problem is when I plugged the original charger connector into the "Safety Key" connector and the charger's LED keeps flashing RED for a whole day. And the battery pack is not charging at all, and the battery indicator still shows 1 LED bar. Any one have any suggestion? Thanks for your help.
Ih gosh. I wish I could help but I am not familiar with that error. If it were me, I would double-check your connections and the polarity of the. I wish I could be more help!
Thanks for the video..can you cut the acrylic with the blade instead of using laser ? I have the x tool m1
I don't think so. I'd check the xtool website to see what you can cut with the blade.
@@MonkeyWoodworks thanks! I will check.
Hello, love your videos. As a newbie still lots to learn. I wonder do you have a video showing how to cut outlines within letters as well as outer eg …BOO. I want the letters as a drop shadow, but can’t cut the middles out on the outline? Also , my workspace doesn’t look the same as yours. You seem to have way more options. TIA from uk
Sorry, I am having trouble visualizing your question on the BOO. The software I am using is the current non-beta version of XCS.
This video is awesome thank you so much, your tutorials are the best I have found.....I do have an issue, for some reason I can not copy or duplicate? I select all and control C, and also have tried right clicking and copying that way too but still no luck...any suggestions?? Thank you in advance
Odd! Are you using windows or mac?
@@MonkeyWoodworks windows thank you so much I worked it out 😂
My wen did the not run thing, I found the oil was a little low, it does have low oil protection, this could have been your problem? Other than that a great inverter generator, remember you can buy three of these for the price of a comparable Honda
Mine was not low on oil but that is very good to know. So far, mine has been great for me with no issues at all and starts on the first pull.
I don't have a conveyor, so I will live through you! Lol 😆 looking forward to your Ultra review!
hah! Live away Pen!
I really have to give mine a shot haha
Do it!
I can’t find the SVG file for your leveling tool! Could you please tell me how to get that! Looks amazing!!!
Expand the description of this video. Scroll down to my Material Settings document. Inside that document, you will find lots of helpful info along with a link to my leveling tool SVG.
Thank you! I do not know how I missed this... Perfecto..
You're welcome
Nice sign.. I just have a small question about your table extension for you P2. I have the P2 also, and have purchased the Conveyor System, but I have not had a chance to use this so far, but I am wanting to add on to my bench and I just wanted to know how far did your make your table extension? Thank you...
I made a quick knock down setup for my P2. My infeed and outfeed tables were made by cutting a 12" x 6ft board in half. If you check out my video of putting together the conveyor, you can see how I set it up.
@@MonkeyWoodworks Thank you!vI will look up your video! Have a great weekend..
@@rickpouley7561 same to you. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions
@@MonkeyWoodworks Thank you again!
Great video! I discovered this while trying to find a new pizza cutter and I think this settles my decision!
Now I gotta know, which pizza cutter did you go with???!!!
Hi, great couple of tumbler vids, I subscribed. Can you share the SVG of your leveling tool?
Thank you for your support! Expand this video's description, and you will find a link to my Material Settings Google document. Inside that document, you will find a link to the file.
@@MonkeyWoodworks Thank you so much!
@@llmcclymonds Absolutely
How much garage space do you need in front and in back of the P2 with the conveyor set up?
The setup I have shown in this video requires an eight foot long area. You need a lot of space.
@@MonkeyWoodworks thanks. I’m redoing my garage area. This helps
You are welcome. I do not use my conveyor everyday but when I do, I have to drag kids bikes, a tablesaw, and other misc stuff out of the way to make room haha.
Thank you so much my top fan really needs a cleaning and this video was extremely helpful
You are very welcome!
You Always have such creative projects to share. Very nice
Thank you!
Any reason you're not using the new XCS 2.0?
I do use the new 2.0 daily. I did not for this video since technically it is still in Beta.
❤❤❤
Thanks!
Beautiful job Michael and looks great on the cup!! So, you mentioned kerf, you didn't have to adjust for that? I remember my daughter had to figure out the "kerf" on some wood projects. Could that have been because it wasn't built into the SVG? Or, does it depend on the laser and not the SVG? Thanks for sharing. Tracey
Thank you! On the kerf, in this case it didnt matter too much. In fact, the wider kerf helped me put the pieces back together. Where it matters is when your making a piece that needs to have a tight fit. You need to measure the material thickness and adjust the slot size the material will be fitting into. The slot needs to be smaller than the material thickness but you need to account for the kerf to make it a tight fit. One thing i use to get around it is something called a slot sizer. I found the SVG of it online and cut it on the P2. I can then take that sizer, slip it over the material i want to match, and use the found slot size to know exactly how big to make my slot in the design.
@@MonkeyWoodworks that’s for that information!
Anytime
Nice job!
Thank you! I was really happy with the results.
I returned my LaserPecker after 2 days - couldn't get it to stay connected to the app using either Wifi, Bluetooth or USB. Just put my deposit down on the xTool F1 Ultra
That is odd on the LaserPecker especially on the USB option. The F1 Ultra looks promising!
I own a 2350 as well from brand new. It's been good. But the only little issue I have is there is no carburetor adjustment for sea level... I know they have high altitude kits (2 different ones , different main jets ). But it should run very smooth at sea level. But I'm not seeing any kind of adjustment... For mixture. Or am I just blind?
I am not sure either. I have not seen anything on that as well. Mine runs smooth straight from Amazon and I am really close to sea level.
For the xtool p2 do I need the riser or can I just put something under machine to raise it up
If your handy, you can come up with a way to lift it. I used 2x4s screwed together until i got the base. Keep in mind that it weighs close to 100lbs and shakes a little when engraving. You will need to make sure it's secure
