    Great video, really appreciate it. Would love some close up on the acrylic edges, on the verge of buying a P2

    Awesome video! I'm excited about being able to clean the slats in the machine. Much faster than removing honeycomb, taking outside, cleaning each hole, and waiting for it to dry.

    Yes! They are really easy to clean. I haven't tried it yet but I also hear Dawn powerwash works great to clean honeycombs. I am guessing it will work the same on these. Only issue is you have to rinse them off so I am guessing when you need to do a deep clean on them, you can take them all out and let them soak in the stuff for a while. But the light in-between cleanings can be done like i did in the video.

    Finally someone showing a project being done with the P2. :) I am still hesitating to pull the trigger, especially because I have no experience with machines from other manufacturers in comparison. One thing that irritates me is that their marketing promises a lot of things, but does not deliver. For example the website looks like features like RA2 or Passthrough are part of the machine, but these are all addons. Then they mention the bed size, but the real working area is smaller and even more so in the open space mode. The release video shows a fake dog tag engraving too. This makes me wonder if I will get what I am expecting.

    My plan moving forward is to showcase projects made in the P2. The hard part is not making the video long and boring lol.

    I'm hoping the retail versions come with a full set of slats (enough to fill all of the slots) If not some jobs with smaller pieces may require us to be able to purchase more slats

    I do not think they will. It is my understanding that the unit I have is REALLY close to the final version. We will see!

    Should have mine next Friday! My first laser! What is that surface you’re assembling on? Looks like a nice cushioned work blanket? Do you happen to know the amps needed for the P2 and all the powered accessories like the filter, rotary tool, and fire suppression system? I’m running 110v in the US. Thanks for such informative videos!

    Excited for you! That is just a moving blanket from Harbor Freight. It was the best background I could find to film the assembly. I know the power draw is 450 watts @ 100% power + air assist at full power but that is all i know.

    Awesome video and thanks for the amount of detail and explanation. I was wondering when you moved all the components in the acrylic shape on the software, wasn't it possible to just move the 'acrylic shape' over where the shapes originally were?

  • @MonkeyWoodworks

    @MonkeyWoodworks

    Жыл бұрын

    Hah, yes your right. I could have moved the square on top of the pieces. I believe however that the pieces make a rectangular shape and do not fit on the square as is and needed to be re-arranged. That is why I chose to do it the way I did.

  • @MonkeyWoodworks

    It is actually still holding up! I recommend you get glues made specifically for non-porous acrylics such as Weld-on.

    How intricate will it cut? Will it make paper lace like for wedding invitations? Or earrings? Thanks for getting a video out.

    From what i have tested, it cuts smaller parts just fine. I do personally find my M1 cuts better on smaller items but they are two different lasers, with different power. But, comparing the two is like comparing a fine point pen to a ballpoint pen. Ill see if i can do some comparisons and share the results.

    Can you do this on the m1

  • @MonkeyWoodworks

    @MonkeyWoodworks

    5 ай бұрын

    Sorry, you can not. Diode lasers (like the M1, D1, S1) can not cut clear acrylic due to the laser type. The laser passes right through it like a flashlight.
