Hello! :) I'm Izzy, a Cambridge University graduate and medical doctor based in London. On the side I like to learn Mandarin, read, and do yoga. I love talking about language learning, study tips, lifestyle and more - I'm always learning new things and hope to share the journey with you!

can you talk about Adrian Castro Ayala from UNAM??
what do you think about Adrian Castro Ayala from UNAM?
Hey Dr. Izzy, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?
thank you Dr. IZzy
Just start 2 weeks, 100 subs, many thanks for your video!
Izzy, if you see this comment would you please reply. I am at the cusp at starting my video. I am a renal transplant survivor. I have fought very hard and won the battle with diabetes and lost 66 lbs and got back in shape. I want to share my story on my channel. What suggestion would you have for me about memorising my script. What's the best way to do that in your opinion?
I'm interested in your saying ``koan mediation''. Maybe it is the same as zazen-kufu (坐禅工夫) in Japanese. Did you enjoy the famous koan: ``do dogs have buddha-nature?''
I don’t journal because I want nothing on the record. This video is a trap.
Over 40 vlogger here just starting out 👋
yes, we want to see your calendar and maybe notes, flashcards :)
Yes, I’d L❤VE a Bullet Journal Video from YOU!! 🙏🥰
looking like the way you do, i wonder how much algorithm knowledge do u really need to blow up your channel? haha. good content regardless! And I love your accent!
1:47 You use wrong map. This is a big problem as a youtuber.
Thanks Izzy. This was a great breakdown of the structure and the suggestion of learning frequent words first. Can you do some practical lessons putting frequent words into context with phrases?

I am someone who worries about IELTS English speaking, but I am a native Chinese speaker. If anyone wants to improve their Chinese speaking skills and can also teach me some English speaking skills, please reply to me.
Good
For me, its pomodoro, set work hours and having a day or two off were the things that helped with burnout :DD ofc, you need to find what duration of the pomodoro will work for you but for me, i usually study for 50 minutes, break for 10, and then switch tasks after two sessions (because i tend to get bored if i study the same thing any longer than that). its completely a coincidence I think that after every two hours, I would have to take a (roughly) half hour break (lunch, prayers, commute, etc). on top of that, i also only study for 5 days a week - i set aside one day for rest and creative work (if i want to), and another day just to reorient, reorganize, and clean up my task lists to make sure that I'm not missing out on anything (this also happens to be the day where i catch up on emails, editing stuff, posting to socials, etc etc). having the 5 days a week work week on top of the two hours per task work flow has helped me push myself to stay focused on my task because i /know/ i dont have enough time in the day and want to set time to relax during the weekend. ON TOP of that, i really only study from like 10am-ish until 8-pm-ish (if theres a need to, i'll study up until 10 pm but no more than that). i've been doing it this way for almost 10 years now and havent had burnout in that time :D which is nice :DD
for Japanese Chinese is the hardest. If someone wants to proclaim “I mastered a language” Chinese is still the one of hardest all over the world even for natives. Korean and Japanese are very similar unlike our relationship
You are gorgeous sis!! ❤ Also thank you for the video x
Excellent Izzy…..your take on the bujo connection would also be great!
It's an arrogance to suggest that you can teach someone to speak with a British accent when no such thing exists. You're speaking with a refined English accent. British and English are not the same.
❤❤❤
Damn dawg. I'm that american!?
Happy day mother A big hug for you from Perú Lima San juan lurigancho
As a Chinese native speaker, I found korean would be the hardest in terms of pronunciation.
English also has the same problem for US and UK, "look up", "chips" lol
I am starting to learn the language, because I would like to become a Mandarin teacher.
I am someone who worries about IELTS English speaking, but I am a native Chinese speaker. could you teach me some speaking english?we can help each other
Since long back BBC has employed non RP speakers on microphones, which is funny, wired, against common sense ( is it still British BC?) and uncomfortable to me. Shocking n disappointing! political correctness has f ‘ kn gone too far n been everywhere, which is sickening. BBC is no longer the source of authentic and standard English that global English language leaders turn to learn. Where else?
The more you stay in the U.K. the more you gravitate to a UK accent because your surrounded by people thats speaks it.
I really love your voice. It is so sweet and clam to listen to.
I'm learning Japanese these days. Which is the best one? There isn't one the best. I use them all. 😅
見た目がバリキャリ女性なのに、 英語、中国語、韓国語、日本語等 全ての言語の声色が優しく円やかに聴こえますね。 声音から素敵な人柄を感じますね。
I just love that you used a fork for the mic handle. This is gold. And thanks for all the advice and tips, I found it really helpful 🎤
Korean?it's a joke
3:18 I can't travel to China, I have a religion which is underban in China
Thank you so much for this video, Izzy! I've been following you for a year, and your productivity videos have truly changed my life. They've taught me how to stick to good habits, even if I can only practice them for a shorter time than I'd like. I love your voice, accent, and the valuable insights you always share in your professionally made videos. Your positive attitude towards life and work is incredibly inspiring. I'm so grateful for you and your KZread channel. You're changing lives and inspiring thousands of people, including me. Over ten years ago, I wanted to start a KZread channel to teach English, but I never had the courage. As the years went by and more creators popped up, I felt my content could never measure up and gave up on the idea. But your video might be the push I needed to finally get started! Thank you, Izzy, for the love, positive energy, and inspiration you send out into the world. Wishing you continued success in your channel and career, and sending you love and gratitude. 🥰
I had turned up these scenarios like making my mind that hard to complete the first task before
been doing journalling and honestly when I don't do it I feel lost now, as well as the light in the morning I try to go on the balcony, but i think the biggest effect it has on my cat and him being so happy makes me happy lol thank you for your video, love all of the habits you have implemented in your life and shared with us, I'm sure it won't be easy goodluck to everyone lets try them all together 😁
Your accent is such pleasure to my ears ☺️
这瓜麻批说的汉语一般般
I use iOS Journal app and record audio and reflect my day on a daily basis. Too lazy to write on paper. Idk if that makes a difference, I mean journaling as journaling right?
Hi guys, I’m from China and I want to learn English, so if you want to learn some Chinese, I can help you, all I need is to improve my English 😊
纯正英国腔听着舒服
I agree, starting a youtube channel is very difficult if you have never done anything like it before, good video.
I know this isn't relevant to the topic, but where did you get your blouse, it's beautiful.
Thanks for posting this. But all the whooshing and clicking sound effects has made this very difficult to watch and distracted from the great content. Hope you take it as constructive feedback.
Japanese is hardest in terms of writing as you need to know three types of writing.
