Greetings and welcome to EIS Alaska.
We are an Alaskan commercial fishing family, harvesting a variety of fish off the rugged coast of Kodiak Island. Our channel is about our experiences as commercial fishermen, island life, and the challenges and work that go into running a small fishing vessel.
Join us as we participate in different fisheries, tackle vessel maintenance and upgrades, and explore the beauty and rich history of Kodiak and the commercial fishing industry.

To be able to fish with your son like this is priceless
I truly appreciate how well your family works together!y sister and I fought like cats and dogs... actually, I'm 60 now and she'll be 58 later this year and we still have our moments!! Lol
Good
Used to like when they were hauling the halibut from back of boat, it offered a better view in my opinion.
bravo good job!!! Friend from Greece😃
man of the sea
👏👏👍👍
im a commercial lobsterman down in Key West Fl. but i love ur guys vids, 2 completely different fisheries but we can still relate! we’re also a dad n son operation❤️
Dad is a superior welder, love his work
Hi guys, nice job, plans coming together nicely, looking good 😊, I bet you can not wait for her maiden trip. It's nice to see you smiling and overcoming those little problems, ie the microphone had other plans lol. Best regards John john from the North East Coast UK 🇬🇧
Is there enough metal on your swimming Mike to to magnet fish for it?
Just subscribed, keep em coming, that fitting you were working on with those hydraulic hoses was a flare fitting
Looks like poor Mike didn't know how to swim 😂 The sound was still good throughout the show. That deck looks beautiful.
Ya lo tienen casi listo eh ❤
Really like the deck.
Great job and looking forward to seeing you back in action on the sea. Greetings from Misery Bay 🏴☠️ Northern Denmark
Question please, with the larger boat, will you need a different level of commercial fishing license?
Not for rockfish and cod. Halibut quota goes by vessel length so we will need to fisg C class quota and up on the Emerald Isle. Tanner crab is 60' and under and ober 60', so we are good to go on that.
Nice job guys.
Great and I am looking forward to your next video with the wall up. Thank you for sharing.
Mighty nice workmanship by some "cave" men. Boat is looking fine and very different from the day you got it.
Looking fantastic ! So sad about the swimming mike😢 bummer man! Coming along nicely.
Yep, he's swimming with the fishes now. Lol. Thanks for commenting, Gary!
Wind Wall? Wave Wall? In Alaska? Who wudda thought you needed that? 😂. Filleting halibut and rockfish will be much more comfortable and safe when it's blowin' 25, not to mention rain.
Haha! That's for sure, we're already enjoying the sheltered area and its not even done yet!
Being on submarines for 20 years when we came into port, we’d be standing topside and the wind would try to blow our ball caps off, so we tied a piece of shot line to our ball cap and then to our life preserver. Cannot be topside uncovered. Try tying a shot line to your microphones and then to your coveralls.
That's a good idea! Next set we get we'll have to do that.
Lanyard and pin! I put a lanyard around my wrist and attach it to the tool in use via homemade clip points after dropping a favourite ratchet in the drink.
Looks so huge, but gopros don't help real size hey? Woohoo getting closer to sailing
It does look big! We thought the same at first. But standing back away from it now its actually a great fit.
SUPER Femily
I'd say something to do with the stern gland having a cut-out the same as the shaft diameter.
Prop puller!
@@EISAlaska Yes, I saw that in the next episode, I was in the general direction at least 🙂
Some nice halibut.

Are you ever going to have fishihg videos again?? Its been a while.
Nice looking boat for sure. Are you still adding hand rails on the sides?
Thanks. Yes we are.
The adding of the vessel's name and home port is a sure sign that all your tireless work has yielded your desired results! And soon to follow is an important first journey. -Bob...
Nice
Excellent job guys! Even the crows gave their opinion. 👌👍💪🇺🇸
I have been watching for several years now and only skip the 'live' broadcasts but I don't remember you filming the making of the shelter deck? Did I miss something? I know you have been presenting out of sequence. That would have been interesting for sure.
Hi, Douglas! Late replay, but here is the building of the shelter! kzread.info/dash/bejne/ZYedzdWLm7DflJs.html
The music obscures the narration.
So much room for activities! Awesome job!
