Now that is an Excellent use of tools and materials on hand. Even with my full machine shop it might have been a little faster and easier to replicate your work BUT it would have not been much better! Great Job....

Okay I am impressed by the ingenuity of recycle and reuse of the hatch instead of scraping it.😊 Yeah you could have bought a new one, but being up there in Kodiak for one jigging season I saw firsthand the fisherman up there doing the same thing. Still waiting to see the mods down in the engine room with baited breath, pun intended 😂. Great work on the hatch.

Absolutely correct! They did a great job repairing that hatch! I was truly impressed with the ingenuity of Alaska residents when I was stationed at Fort Wainwright for 5.5 years from 1989-1995.

Personally I would have thought that keeping one of those large fittings at the top for filling the tank and vent. I'm still impressed with the recycle and reuse theology you have.😊

Try using S/S filler wire when welding Mild Steel. ( it's blends together really good) The best i found is 309 S/S wire. Cheers Paul. Melb, Aust

I disagree with your assessment of the video. I thought it was a great how to save a valuable piece of equipment. Everyone knows what a boat stands for. Break Out Another Thousand.😊
