TX Tool Crib

TX Tool Crib

Welcome to the Texas Tool Crib. When I was coming of age, I had the great fortune to learn a variety of different things from members of my family. I had family members that were electricians, carpenters, welders, millwrights, plumbers, mechanics, and farmers, just to name a few. I started this channel to talk about tools and how to use them. Along the way I will show you tricks and trades I have learned in my life. We’ll throw in some DIY tasks along the way as well. My hope is to help teach others some of the many things I have learned in my life. Hopefully, you will walk away more knowledgeable than you came. Let’s go to work.

Imagine that, someone who didn't call this a "hack". And his thumbnail doesn't show him with his mouth wide open and pointing at something. And he doesn't act goofy in the video. This was much more professional than most KZread videos.

Great but why even draw the first line just the end of the board as your starting point.

I damaged these cutting thru romex staples. Not sure if I can repair them or should I get larger 10” version. They are very stiff and feel stuck but I can not visibly see any damage to them and tried applying oil but no luck.

Measure it's quicker. It's a 2×6 I'm sure you already know what's half of 5 1/2 is. And the square has center marked already for a 2×4 and 2×6. Cool trick though

Shame this one didn’t work well. I wonder if the 2.0 is any better. To say that butane is more dependable isn’t 100% true, it’s kinda environmentally dependent. Liquid fuel works better in cold and windy environments than butane, which is a big reason why I prefer them.

Thanks for this video 😊 For me, the perfect Alox would have: blade, the 4-in-1 tool (same as this on the Bantam), scissors, saw and awl. That would be a 3-layers as versatile as the Farmer X but one layer thiner 🤗

Should have the wheel bolt heads on the outside vs the inside in case you weld off it. You won't get welding splatter on the threads, but dam good job!

You don''t have to be spot-on; you're looking for the centre of a very small error. Great use for a speed square. Wish I'd been shown as an apprentice steel fabricator how damn handy those things are for marking around steel sections.

Leatherman needs to implement a tool (maybe on the ratchet driver or like tool) that is like a drill chuck and can take drill bits and heavy to light stitching needles.

I have three questions: 1. Does a brand new zippo delivered online contain lighter fluid or will i have to add it. 2. Does a new zippo ordered online contain the flint and wick. 3. Can i buy a zippo online and put it into check in baggage on a flight from the US to asia

Words, words, words while video is using the static look on the knife. Why did'nt you show why the knife have only one tool for can opening and bottle opening (allmost all Victorinox knifes have 2 separate tools for can opening and bottle opening). What about show the process of can and bottle opening. The video is about moving pictures.

I work for a tree service and use the standard or Yosemite bowline all the time. While it works great for the more pliable rigging and climbing ropes, it’s always felt a little sketchy on the stiffer 3 strand ropes we use sometimes. I can’t wait to try this out. Thanks!

Terrible demonstration. You wrap it three times, not two. I spent 10 minutes trying to learn how to do this using your video. I spent 2 minutes on another video and got it immediately. Next time, use specific words instead of “lift here”. When you say you’re going to “slow it down” and break it down, you should actually do that.

Carefully look under the letter "a" & the lightning bolt (clip side), you will see a razor design on the handle.

I am 100% a leatherman fanboy. I have about 11 different leathermans. I bought one of these. And now carry it every day at work. I like it so much I just bought a backup. Now that's saying something. Ohh I'm talking about the origional centerdrive not the plus version. I don't like combo blades

If anyone who worked for me did this they would be fired. Also you are finding center for no reason. What if you have to drill a hole 10 inches from the end. This method doesn't do anything, you still need a tape measure. It's fun to show the center of a piece of wood on KZread but this has no practical use and you end up with a bunch of pencil lines all over your wood.

  • @Sheepleton
    @Sheepleton3 күн бұрын

There's a KZread video where the guy takes a bolt and hammer and smacks the center round part of the pivot and it instantly frees it up. It moves an imperceptible amount but legitimately seems to work. He says his stiffens up after cutting hardwire too and this is his solution.

The thing I always appreciate so much about your videos is that it's always clear you're a working grunt who actually uses tools for a living. Nothing against the "EDC" crowd, they're just as entitled to their opinions as well. Being able to see these tools through the eyes of another knuckle-buster is just a real treat. I can't think of anything you've ever said or pointed out that wasn't also my experience using these as a professional maintenance guy. Keep it coming! Also, you turned me on to Swiss army knives. So my wallet curses you!
