If you've lost your creative mojo, I believe my channel will help bring it back. My aim is always to make learning photography fun and believe it's a special way to get lost in a world of creativity and imagination. Photography is an amazing therapy!
My channel is in loving memory of my mentor, John Bigglestone. We worked together from when I was just 15. John supported me in setting up my own photography business and I began teaching in the local college. Now I am enjoying the freedom to teach from wherever I am in the world and I would love you to join me on my journey as you grow on yours.

I noticed
An Ansel Adams picture fired my appreciation for photography as an art form when I was a teenager. That was in the early 1970s and before I had any particular interest in being a photographer myself. Since then, I've developed a greater appreciation for the work of Robert Adams, which obviously doesn't have the same aesthetic impact as Ansel's work. But I love a word that you used in your video to describe how Ansel, and I think Robert too, approach their work: Unapologetic. I think that's how we all need to approach our work, whatever it is. When I say "our work," I'm not referring to what you do for a living or what your hobby is, but rather to the work you do that gives your life purpose, that you'd do whether or not you get paid for it, that you'd do regardless of whether anyone seems to care. YOUR work. For the most part, I think the vast majority of people couldn't care less about our work. Some people will dislike or even hate it and go out of their way to let us know. But your work will also resonate with some number of people whose lives will be enriched by what you put into the world. If you're very, very lucky, you'll meet one or maybe a few of them before your time here is up. We all need each other to keep doing OUR work (their work?? I think you get the idea). Thank you for what you do! Please keep doing it. And thank you to everyone who is fortunate enough to find their own work and pursue it unapologetically!
People looking from the outside might call my passion for Photography a hobby. Why? Because I have a different official Profession for my paycheck. During the day I am a Machinist. But I consider my Photography more than a hobby, it is a religion, a way of thinking, a way of expression. If one day I make money with it, it would be a bonus, but if I never do, it will still continue, even in obscurity. I am also very inspired, and excited by the works and thought process of the great photographers like Ansel Adams, and others. Keep up the great works!
Cirque de Gavarnie. Just been. Get the D800 ready.
amazing! so beautiful!
Beautiful opportunity to see and photograph far away lands. How is your Spanish? Love your videos!
Hey thank you!! I loved learning some Spanish on our travels then as we travelled back through France I forgot which language I was meant to be speaking which was amusing! Thanks so much for your positive feedback!
@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 Yeah, traveling through so many different countries so close together and different languages would not be easy to remember. Keep up the great work!
Loved this post, especially as a huge a PF fan! Yes the D3X is not a low light champ. Back in the day when the D3 series were launched, the D3/D3s were (and are) the low light kings, with the D3s essentially a D3 on steroids. Then the D3X was launched, this camera was lauded at the time as being the camera with the best ever dynamic range and overall image quality, so it was quickly eaten up as the perfect studio camera (at ISO 100). It has since gone on to be a highly sought after classic, but not for low light situations.
Hey thank you! I appreciate your technical input and a bit of history in the comments! And fellow Pink Floyd fan!! The perfect editing music!!
Claire all that scenes are extremely beautiful. D3 is always picking up incredible colours.😅
Hey thanks so much! The D3 colour is amazing!
❤❤
:-)
I could never go back to film. Love digital and appreciate photographers picking up old cameras and shooting a roll. Film has its own merits but the speed and number of photos to be taken with digital was THE game changer that really upended the photo world and real time information sharing. Each new camera release seems to make photo art even easier. Thanks Claire for posting this eye candy.
all so true! thank you for sharing your thoughts and for your appreciation :-)
On holiday I use film and will only take my Nikon AI-S 28mm prime. Versatile and light. Always get a good set of prints back.
Hey Clive :-) I love my time lenses too :-) Great to have you here in our space, thank you for stopping by!
Nice
Thanks :-)
I. Hate. You

🙃
I’ve been looking at infrared cameras also. It appears that we are riding the same waves. 👍
Yes we are! I love this wave!! 🙂
I have both. I use the D800 for non-moving or slow moving objects. Together with the Nikon 200mm f/4 micro, it's a killer.
Thank you for your comment!! Your lens is a great option for telephoto as well as macro! 😍🤩
A very interesting and lovely video Claire ... some very clever pics ... love the bird song ...
Glad you enjoyed it. That villa was the best holiday place ever 😄 so many birds
Claire its nice location with singing birds.😅
It was stunning 😄 thank you for watching
I've always loved IR especially false colour IR in film days ... 🦘
Something else I haven't experienced 😄
OMG, those Nikon Rangefinders, pure delight!
I want to explore this range finder thing 😆
Hi CLaire , Just wondering if you came across a setting where the flash pops up automatically when reaching a minimum shutter speed ???
Not that I know of, sorry.. can anyone else help please? I never use the flash on the D800..
@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 thank you Claire ... seems that it can't
There only thing would watch are the leaning buildings. Apologies if this was intended.
I watched it back thru to see what I thought u meant? 🤔😊😄 Is it the warm tone landscape format shot taken in the morning sun? Slightly leaning on LHS?
@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 sorry Claire, I’m a stickler for level buildings. It’s something I do within the business, making sure everything is level etc.
I am loving the bird sounds. Seems like a lovely, peaceful place. 😀
It was soo beautiful!
I like photography if it gets you out of your top. 😅
🌎
I'd love to see snow - we dont get it here ..🦘
Ah you are in Australia? 😃
I love collecting old cameras - but never liked using rangefinders much ..🦘
😃 I don't blame you!
😍🤗🤗
😄😃
🥰
🙃
I have to agree with Claire, despite owning newer higher MP DSLR's, the D3s is the most amazing camera I've ever used, the feel, the ergonomics, the speed, the precise way it nails everything, just perfect...one of a kind classic.
Hi Arun! Looking forward to working with you again soon and talking more about legendary DSLR's!! 😃
Nikon 85mm f1.4d on my D3 makes magic

Awesome❤❤

@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 hi..
Why f/6.3? It would have looked cool at f/1.8 or somewhere around that.
I totally agree 😆 I was rather distracted modelling and my husband was shooting (hes not a photographer) I didn't keep a close eye on the results as I didnt want to get the camera wet. So yes I would have shot it with a shallow DOF also 😃
اینجا بهشته این خانم هم حوری و اگر من اونجا بودم حتما سر تا پا تو میبوسیدم❤
Which camera you used to record the car footage
Sony ZV1 MK2
@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 It looks beautiful and organic. I have one ZV1 original model. Can you tell me which profile you use?
@@ajayktv1115 sorry im not sure what you mean by which profile 😄 I haven't had the camera very long so havent played with that many settings admittedly
@@clairesschoolofphotography1767 ok that's fine. I mean picture profile.✌
You are reaching Zen. A thousand blessings. x
Wow, thank you so much. A thousand blessings to you too! 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Kafkaesque ending... what does it all mean!?!😺
🌟🤔😄
3:00 that fence in the background is very disturbing. your lens was more than capable to bring you out from the external factors at 1.8 or 2.
I don't disagree! Had I been the photographer I absolutely would have spotted it and adjusted. I probably would have shot at 1.6..
Your friend Carol is adorable!.. Hope you use her more for your test shots 😊
Thank you! Will do! I will send Carol your comment 😊
Beautiful! Can't wait!
Me too!! 🙃🌱🌟😄
I fell asleep for hours to the wonderful sound of this waterfall❤Thank you for that. A magnificently beautiful shot. I worried that you might slip under the power of the water, please be safer…we new fans are looking forward to your future endeavors 😊…and your assistance’s elbow 😁…Again, beautiful 🌹🌹
Thank you so much for your warm caring comment. Blessings to you and so lovely to have you in this creative space 🌱🌟❤️
Talented Photographer and beautiful model!
Thank you so very much!
Love that wish I could be there with my Nikon cameras.
I am hoping to create some photo events in this spot 🙃🌱🌟 for those who can make it to the UK 🤞
