Amazing video and it took me only 8 years to find it!😀
Boy he sure made a job out of something simple.
Thanks I have a wire on junction block that has cracked insulation and corroded exposed wires with low voltage. What are those white things on the wire, it's real close to that.
I have the exact same model, type and code number. Must have been a productive year.
Thanks, this helps me out quite a bit. My old 10 has the same symptom with the dripping gas and won't start.
I had a similar issue, last owner installed a buttload of aftermarket audio gear. Just tore it all out and it fixed it
Hey Sean 👍
I just ran across your channel recently and was pleased to see so much information on the Simplicity Sunstar tractors. I have had one (late 80s model M20 engine) for about 20+ years with a quickway loader. I've used it an abused it but I keep it going. Watching this channel, I see a few maintenance things I need to do. And a few things I didn't know. The air diverter, for example came with my tractor, but I never knew where it went. Now I do. I didn't know about how to check the trans fluid level, now I do. And a few other things. The loader I have didn't require removing the brake pedal, so I still have both. It looks like it mounts a little forward of the Ziploader you showed. Mine does have the hi/lo and diff loc which I've used a LOT. So much that my heel would become sore. So I put a "pedal" onto the lever to made it more comfortable. My property has little flat and level. So going down a hill with a bucket full of dirt, when it would get uneven, not only would the unloaded wheel spin, but the tractor would take off down the hill. The diff lock keeps that from happening. Also, be careful having it engaged and making tight turns on hard ground. I broke two rear hubs before I learned to be more careful. I enjoy your channel and hope you keep it going. All the best to you.
I realize this is a rather old video but it just saved me a quoted "$1200" for a local shop to build me a new simplicity deck spindle. I was able to follow these steps and change the bad parts in the existing spindle for under $20. THANK YOU!!!
This is why I post the videos! Glad you were able to save all that cash! Zip~
Funny.. I'm also a non-Irish Sean. Adopted as a baby to an Irish family. Many decades later learning that I'm Swedish, LOL. Thanks again for the advice on modifying my standard length AC Delco start/gen to fit in my puny MTD Eight Hundred. I just finished the install yesterday and should have a vid out on it soon.. of course I'll have the "shout-out" included. Cheers!
What are those 10 inch hubcaps off of? I ordered 10 1/8 inch thinking that that was the OD and was super bummed when I realized that that was I'd. I have a set of 12 inch wheels on my SS12
can you make one of these for a Snapper S31BC?
Glad to see that you are improving and have hope! I just found you r channel in the last few days as I just purchased a used Simplicity Baron-S [3414S] tractor (13HP/built in mid '70s) as my first riding mower. I chose it simply because it came with a dozer blade and a snow blower, both of which I need here in central MI. It also had some manuals with it to help understand it some. The brakes on it are not very good, so I will have to take it apart and see if I can do something with that brake-band. The next day another Simplicity tractor showed up on FB MP advertised for parts only as the hydrostatic transmission was not engaging. I first looked at zero turn mowers but many had hydrostatic transmission problems and were many times more expensive than what I paid for the tractor. So I'm happy with a Simplicity tractor with so may attachments available for them. I went and retrieved that larger Sovereign (16HP)[6216] built in the '80s, and it is in really good shape and it was very affordable. Everything works nicely but the transmission will not go in either direction. So I started looking for a YT channel that could give me maintenance info on hydrostatic transmissions. I perused your video list back a ways but saw nothing specific. I'm sure I will find something that will help with my problems, so I subscribed. I was embarrassed that I have two Simplicity tractors in my yard and then I see your place! I feel better for 2 reasons; I'm not alone now, and just maybe this brand is a good tractor. But I was surprised to find out that my tractors are as hold as they are. Thanks for the hubcap video. When I get my tractors both running well, I want to make them look nice. Do you happen to know what the numbers might be for the Simplicity colors for these orange and white tractors?
I am having a hard time getting the deck up on mine. I’ve tried lifting it at the lowest cutting level and the highest cutting level, but the thing with the cutting level notches keeps catching on a bolt while the other side is about an inch from locking in and holding. Any help is appreciated.
What size belts are need it ?
Rebuilding one any idea what the deck belt is? I can't for the life of me figure it out
I keep throwing my drive belt for the mower do you know what the length of the mower belt is
Most helpful, thank you
You know I've had one of those sitting in a bin for a few years, I had given up on it. Your little trick here worked fantastically.
What is the module called
One more question knives that have torx screws are they supposed to be a little loose or super tight in that knife
Gerber come across a lot of pocket knives that have torque screws yet they're tight and when you open the knife about 5 or 6 times the blade becomes wobbly so you tighten up again so the same thing happens or torque screws supposed to be tight where they don't move or in a knife or there's a little bit of play in that screw
I have a 1995 Chevy p30 6.4 litre. I can’t get the timing right ((!! She won’t turn over. Can anyone help me step by step plz
My Snapper starts and runs about 20 yds to the yard and dies out. Installed new spark plug, fuel filter, & cleaned carb so what 😊 could it be ?
was just about to tear into mine for a second time or most likely buy another one from ebay to solve this. definately doing this tomorrow.
I have a 74 sears LT8E tractor. Has this motor 👍
I watched the first seven minutes, but did not hear the problem that you were solving. Did the truck not start, did it not run well, did it cut out under power?
The cable doesn’t slide out of the bracket. It pop out of the hole in the bracket.
Do you know where I could find the info on what to set my multimeter to and how to test each of those connection points like where you said it read 12.3 volts across each one I want to do that
Wonderful to see the Zip with such good news. Keep on kickin' that C's ass!
I mean, this is kind of useful because my LX 255 lawnmower is not really doing great. It just is not starting up. It’s making noise and it keeps backfiring.
I have a 1960's vintage Trail King motor bike with a 3 HP B.S. engine I'm restoring. 1) Only info on engine is plate on the block which says: TD NUMBER 2222198. Can you help identify this model? 2) I bought a coil/magneto conversion but the existing coil has four (4) bolts and of course the conversion has only two (2) bolts. In your video you mention/show a mounting bracket.....I need that bracket in order for the conversion coil to match up to the flywheel but I can't find a bracket anywhere and without a correct model that is recognized I'm stuck. What are your thoughts?
whats your thoughts between the Kawi and vangurd 27 hp?
When headlights on my hazards lights don’t flash and my right turn signal hyper flashes. With headlights off turn signal is normal and hazard lights work. Also my 4x4 shifter the light stays on the side that says put in neutral to engage low.
Does anything tell you the type of shaft without pulling the motor? Eg threaded, keyed, diameter etc?
excellent video!!! You answered a lot of questions I had about the front hydraulics and rear hitch equipment.
Ive updated the ignition and done away from the points and condensor. I wire it up and the gen/starter wont shut off unless i unhook a battery terminal? Im lost ???
Just mount the module away from heat.
Pbsrh
Very good info..thank you
Does anybody know what goes what on that junction box, i have a 93 4.3 and its shorting out where, battery cables get siper hot
Thank you for making this video. I just purchased a Deutz 1920 and it’s been a bit confusing to understand what options it has and what options may be available for me to add to it in the future. This video cleared it up quite a lot. However, I’m still looking for good information on adding a 3-point hitch so anything documenting hitches would be appreciated. Thanks.
It appears that it has a inline fuse to protect the charger from damage , maybe a 20 AMP fuse ?
Hello Sean, i hope You're enjoying the Summer. Good Thoughts from Dublin.
Well you definitely helped me. Thanks for this very informative video. I now am absolutely positive that I can now install new brushes in my Onan generator engine. I am very appreciative.
Changed my 10 years old solenoid today. Was clicking but not starting. Then discovered a broken deck engagement cable. New cable ordered. I hope that you are doing well Brother. 🙏
Hello sir, I'm new to the channel and I have a 64 simplicity landlord and I can't find a carburetor gasket and was wondering if you could point me in the right direction. My dad had cancer and it's a tough battle! But you seem like a very strong man. Mindset is everything! Kick its ass man!!!
Can you help with model number for early 1960 3HP B &S. Only reference I can find is a plate on the block which says: TD NUMBER 2222198. However I can't find any BS manual referencing that model. I want to replace not working coil with Magnetron coil to eliminate the points/condenser. Can you help?
THANK YOU!!! you make it so simple
Thanks for the video. I am looking to get into my first Sunstar.....well, actually it's a Deutz Allis 1920 version but as I am doing my pre-purchase research I found your video and I am astounded by how much variety of options this line of machine had. I guess I am a bit disappointed to see that the 1920 I am considering is missing some bells and whistles. I am in Michigan and I see that offerings of the Simplicity/Deutz/Agco/Chalmers etc. is a bit thin and after re-reviewing the options available on my local marketplace, none appear to have the dual hydraulics levers, only one or two much farther away (and much more expensive) have the rear PTO output and I don't think any have the 3-point lift. My main reason for targeting this line was to get a good chassis to transplant my Sears/Kwik-Way front end loader from my old Sears Suburban that is lacking so much. With a bit of customization, I am hoping it will be a good fit but I would hope that it will be possible to build it into a larger 'system' in the future if I find one with the better options.
