New wheels looking good. Really like this series of Chev/GMC half-ton trucks.

Same here William! I've owned 13 of them over the years in all shapes sizes and types. Only two have been extended cabs and just two were Step Sides. I always try to get the Single cabs, but Clifford has an awesome back story to him so he will be in the family for as long as I can help it. Cheers! Zip~

Wheels look great, remind me of the old cragar wheels from the 70s and 80s i never could afford, I had to go with the stock rally wheels on my 69 chevelle. I've used fram filters since the 70s when I first started doing oil changed and I still using them to this day and change my own oil still. Never that I know of ever had any issues. Hope it's something simple for you. Thanks Zip!

I only recently switched from Fram to WIX. Used Fram exclusively all my life until I read a few reviews on their overall construction. They're not "BAD" filters. There's just better ones out there. So I went with WIX and have only been using them for the past couple years. So I can't really offer a good side by side comparison. All I know is, Fram never let me down. Plus, I'm super OCD when it comes to preventative maintenance, so the oil never even really has a chance to get very dirty between oil changes. And yes.....these American Racing Torque Thrust II's do resemble the old Cragar wheels. Cheers Arcie my Friend! Zip~

Heya Danny! Yep, they are quite similar to the old Craigar SS of the day. These are American Racing Torque Thrust II's. They're real hard to come by since they stopped making them so I got lucky with this nice used set and Clifford feels like a new Dog! Cheers my Friend! Zip~

From the looks of it, it's very dirty Transmission oil. I've been babying the trans for some time now. Actually since I got him. So I knew there would come a day when a new or rebuilt trans would be in Clifford's future. I haven't put very many miles on him since doing a trans filter replacement and for the oil to be the color it is, I know its days are numbered now. Cheers Mr. Mule! Thanks for checking Clifford out! I dig the rims, and it's good looking truck, for a Chevy. LOL 😉 I'm am with you 100% on Fram, I'll use them in a pinch, but I always go with Wix/Napa gold, or OEM.

Great to hear from ya Sean! Yep, Ole Clifford has been a good GMC. He's starting to show his age at 30 years old, but still dependable as the day is long. Hope you're doing well my Friend! Zip~

I've had quite a few S10's over the years as well. My last was a 2000 extended cab long bed Extreme. Most worthless excuse for a Truck, but man, it was a ton of fun to drive! Got rid of it because I couldn't haul anything but groceries lol. Cheers! Zip~

The rims look great Zippo.. if your in a area that uses salt on the roads i would recommend maybe some fine oil on them to protect from the salt eating the finish. Cheers Eric 💈

Heya Eric! Yeah, they're not going to stay on through the Winter. Going to put new rubber on them and put the old Rally wheels on for Winter. I need to do the same for Ruby as well. Gotta preserve those nice wheels for nice weather! Cheers my Friend! Zip~

Truck looks magnificiento with those wheels. Sure hope it is not the rear main seal. Pay someone to fix that if it is, unless you have the equipment. Truck looks sharp. Thanks for the videos.

The oil is real dirty and almost a rust color so I'm leaning more towards it being the transmission input shaft seal. I've babied this trans since day one, knowing it would eventually need either rebuilt or replaced. No better time than the present than to address it and get things sorted out. Fortunately I've got an Ace in the hole with a buddy of mine Lloyd. He's a transmission Guru that works for my go to repair shop. He can quickly tell me whether a rebuild or replacement is best. Gotta take care of Clifford! I made a promise to the original owners who have both gone to heaven. To keep Clifford happy. Cheers Mr. C! Catch you on the next one! Zip~

@@ZippoVarga Bless your heart to keep your word to the previous owners. You have to know Clifford was their pride and joy as well. You are blessed to know them and they you. I know very little about automatic transmissions but have heard good things about Jasper Transmissions. I am sure your go to guy knows best.

Rims are sweet. Truck is a beaut. I have a 92 1500 but not stepside. Pushing 200,000 miles and still running great. 100% cheap fram filters every 3000 miles. If you do have a leaky seal fortunately not hard to replace. Where did you get the front license plate? Love to buy one for mine.

I got the plate off eBay Jarof. Just search for Stainless vanity plate with the logo you want. I got lucky and got mine for like $10. But being stainless, it'll last and last. Cheers! Zip~

Ruby is doing great John! He's got a load of 6 tractors and a boat load of implements to go fetch tomorrow. Sadly not for me, but for a great friend of mine. We'll be doubling up on the trucks and trailers so we can get everything in one trip. Ruby really enjoys being worked and hasn't complained one bit since installing the new engine. Thanks for asking about her! Cheers! Zip~

I used to use Fram exclusively until I discovered WIX and truly never had an issue, but from reading and seeing the proof on how Fram performs, I quickly switched to WIX. Clifford is such a good clean running engine, that my oil doesn't look bad at all when it's time to change it. Still translucent and according to Blackstone Labs oil analysis, the engine is as clean inside as a new engine and honestly, I just switched to WIX the oil change before this one. Anyhow......good idea to open her up when it's time. Cheers Rawb! Zip~

✌️ just being facetious Via the don’t say anything quip, reminded my of the guy apologizing for using harbor freight tools 🤦‍♂️ I be like why, gets it done don’t it? 🤷‍♂️ actually meant opening & comparing wix & fram still hadn’t shifted out of facetious mode dunno if average chain parts store offer a can opener.. jegs summit. .. Napa? Average joe ain’t building 1500 - 2000 hp beast, but they can be had for the prosumer aka the hot rider diagnosing what was happening inside before that rod went thru the pan 😂😂 🤷‍♂️

I did an air filter cut up comparison on my 79 F150, non stock air filter assembly, Holley 4 barrel, way back 25 years ago in college. I don't remember the size exactly 12"-14" diameter circle and 4" tall, just guessing, and we cut up a used Fram I took off, then the Napa gold (rebranded Wix) after it was used up, and it was literally very close to twice as much paper in the Napa Gold. You could see it had more pleats, but I never would have guessed the Fram had half as much filter material. I miss that truck, it never let me down. I would always go for the biggest filter I could find too, especially with oil, that extra volume helps extend the life. Cheers Sean
