@@ZippoVarga You are so welcome. You inspired me to find a vintage Allis Chalmers B-10 and restore it. I have always wanted a front end loader tractor and recently I have developed a need for a backhoe. I believe that a reinforced Allis would be a similar end product to a Terramite. I have been looking for one here in Pa but when they pop up they are usually gone in an hour, sometimes minutes. Or they are unreasonably expensive because of the Patina..Happy Holidays. Hey zippo, I have been seeing that people online talk about a 2000RPM pto and a 3600RPM pto on these, how do you tell the difference? Kind of sounds like the 3600 is tucked up and under while the 2000 is centered straight out the back like yours?
@ZippoVarga
Жыл бұрын
You're correct. There are two speed options for rear PTO's. One is 3,400, the other is the 2,000. If you're lucky enough to have the 2,000 rpm rear PTO, it can also be converted to 3,400 rpm's simply by removal of the reversing reduction gear box from the 2,000 rpm PTO. There is an early and late model which is why there's a difference. The 3,400 rpm is more or less a PTO that matches the RPM's of the engine. And you're also correct with the 3,400rpm pto being tucked under the gas tank. The 2,000 rpm reversing reduction gearbox mounts rearward of the 3,400 rpm pto. So it's the more desired pto type to find since it's able to be converted to accommodate both the early and late model pto styles offered. With the Cat 0 rear lift, any PTO driven Cat 0 implement runs at 2,000 rpm, so any will work. I will do a more thorough video showing the finer details and explaining the differences etc. I have to remove the gas tank of the new tractor anyhow because it needs plastiwelded, so it'll give a perfect opportunity to show exactly what's going on under the seat pan and gas tank. Excellent question LaFierte! Cheers! Zip~

@@ZippoVarga thank you for the answer! I’m actually looking at purchasing one now, but wasn’t sure of the difference. On the 3400RPM that tucked under, is it centered like the 2000RPM, but further back due to not having the gear reduction box, or is it in a different spot altogether? I really appreciate you taking your time to answer! -Also, what’s this 520/540RPM one you mention? (Would be great to hear about in the future PTO video)

I have worked on a lot of these tractors and have never came across the ability to easily convert from the 2000 to the engine speed. You would need to have either one or the other. So if you know something more I would be very interested in that. Thank you, Dan

@@ZippoVarga the 2000 RPM PTO does not attach to the 3400 RPM PTO. They are two totally separate PTO units. You either have one or the other. As for a 540 PTO, they offered one that hooked onto the front of the tractor being ran off of the front electric PTO output that the snowblower would connect to.

Are the brakes on the Sunstars the same as the 616/620/and 720 tractors? I hope so, so you can help me learn how to make mine work better on my 616.

They operate in much the same way in that they operate independently to help steering and in tandem when they're locked together. But I'm not familiar with how the Powermax type compact's brakes work unfortunately. But you should be able to get a digital owners manual directly from the Simplicity website so long as you have the MFG number. It should tell you in there how to adjust the brakes. Cheers Buddy! Zip~

I actually have one! I bought it at the same time I bought the 46" snow blade a short while back, but it's currently buried in the guys back yard. Once he's got his downed trees all cut up and split up he's supposed to give me a call to come pick it up. Funny story about it. I went to the guys house for the snow blade which I paid 200 bucks for and when he offered the Deutz "Ultima" (There's your answer to the name of it), to me for a mere $20!! It's complete less engine, so I'll probably throw an engine in it to check everything out and if it turns out to be a good tractor I'll keep it as my token bastard child to the Sunstar collection lol. Cheers! Zip~
