Thanks Zippo for taking me back to my teen years putting bushings in the generators and starters. Of course I never understood how they functioned but did a few in my time. Thanks for the information. Take care my friend.

Very impressive the knowledge you have on these starter/gens. I'll be back for part two also. Thanks Zip!

The problem with front brg going out is over tightening because the pulley is worn out badly With new pulley it doesn’t take much to tighten it properly

Nice video. Working on a toro utility vehicle starter generator. Took end cap off. Has a bearing. Had a wave washer on the end of it. Parts diagram has that wave washer on the inside of bearing side. Any idea? I’m investigating a whining sound. Changed the belt. No whine when just starter is on. Wondering if a whine if a load.

I have 7 Sears suburbans which all have the Delco Remy starter/Ginny's and a vid on how to test the output of the generator and testing of the regulator circuit would be very useful. I understand that seeing a 13.8 volt output is the desired voltage on the lawn tractors but where does one start testing if there isn't a charge getting back to the battery? Is there a way to isolate whether the problem is in the generator or the regulator?

Great question Outta. Yes, and I show how to test the Starter Generator by itself in parts 2 and 3. Zip~
