Welcome to my KZread channel! My ultimate goal for my channel is to share some of my fishing knowledge and experiences with you when you watch my videos. Most of my videos will be based in New England, BUT I am sure some stuff will transfer to other parts of the world and species you may be going after. I will be fishing in both fresh and saltwater in kayaks and from shore. Occasionally I may do a video on a charter boat. I must admit I am not a perfect and professional fisherman and I will never be, so bare with me in my videos to hopefully learn some good stuff and to maybe learn from mistakes I may make on the way. Most of all get out and get fishing and share the joy of fishing with your friends and loved ones! Please Like and Subscribe!

What size jigs do you use most the time ? Thanks
3/8 - 1/2oz for epoxies. Any larger I do metals to keep the profile smaller if need be. It really depends on the weather and what they are feeding on ultimately.
@@davedeefishing awesome. Thank you so much .
Nice video for beginners. You channel deserves more views. Thank you! My problem with snafu rig is the hook is at the lowest end of line. and rod is not sensitive to the position of the hook because weight is at higher position than hook. When retrieving line from beach or trolling on boats, the hook is easily stuck at bottom. After losing several rigs, I never used it again. Another excellent bait for porgy is shrimp, which is widely available at grocery store. I usually tie half shrimp tail with elastic rubber thread before putting it on hook.
Thanks so much!
I've use shrimp before and it works great. Not many fish don't like it!
Beadalon picture frame craft wire $4.00 for 30meters sold at Walmart is good for leader material for those Xraps or Minnow lures so you wont get bitten off. Easily make a perfection loop at one end and the other tie a uni knot to your lure.
Just fished that dock yesterday. I like to drop straight down the side of the pilings. If you’re not catching them, they aren’t there.
It was good in the early morning hours but dead by 10am.
3:57 Haha, I use my 5k saragosa paired up with my 7ft okuma 1 pc to catch smaller fish. 😅
It's OK what ever works! If you have nice stuff use it! I use my albie set up and love it.
I used to catch Scup in RI. Scup don’t usually come up to the North Shore where I now live. How far south of Boston do you need to go to catch Scup?
I've caught them in Hull mass the past couple years but nothing consistent
@battagliamp1 have you tried Gloucester ma? It's near Boston and has alot of fish!
Never caught scup in Gloucester. State pier is good for mackerel and squid depending on the season.
Oh snap, great vid dee! 👌 This helps a lot of newbies out there. 😅 #helpful #videotutorial #learning
pretty good also the bike choice is very nice 3x8 drivetrain huge range u can climb any hill easily, now i don't know how big is you rear cassette but i think u can upgrade to a 11 40 tooths and you literally can go anywhere with it,tho if you don't have many hills you should be totally fine, where i live is super hilly so if i wanted to do something like this i would need to upgrade my drivetrain. good video go out fishing and have fun !
Thanks!
Is this a fluke ? Or a sand eel imitation
it's a Sebile Magic Swimmer. I imitates larger bait fish like herring and pogies.
@@davedeefishing thanks!
Unless someone is desperate to land fish or fishing for meat and know that everything they hook will go in the box, I don't see any reason for trebles to be necessary. Inhaling one or both trebles is dangerous for the fish (and likely lethal) and for the fisherman as well. Not good for conservation. Not good flopping around a deck. Inline hooks are the way.
💯
Have you tried salting your squid ? Works amazing holds on the hook longer you can did it to shrimp and clams too
I've never tried salted baits for sea bass. I've done salted shrimp down south for whiting and pumps though. I've gotten lazy and don't feel like making it.
Flounder still around?
What temp water can u catch them till
They are still biting in 20-30ft of water with 65 degree water Temps. I think areas where the water is warmer than this the fish will go deeper
@davedeefishing thanks man goin tomorrow
I'd recommend wearing shoes while walking around in the water. Ya know , safety first an all. You should be using circle hooks instead just to reduce gut hooking a fish, regardless if you keep them or not. Plus if you catch stripers up that far , you better switch to them circle hooks if you plan keeping one, per the new'ish law. Just sayin. Either way, tight lines and a cool video!!

Dude you were out there an hour longer than I would be out there. Congrats on the nice blues!,,
Paid $60 for a whole black sea bass entree at a restaurant in downtown Boston last year. Maybe you should sell a couple of those to cover your overhead? :)
I wish! I'd need a bigger boat lol. I've toyed with the idea of doing it from my kayak.
What pier were you fishing from?
Hewitts cove hingham
Are you still liking the Daiwa QZ750 2-years later? Still recommend it? Thinking about grabbing one for my ultra light rod. I have a cheap bass pro shops reel in it now-piece of junk.
100% get one. I caught a bowfin on mine the other day lol. I actually have 4 qz750s now. My oldest ones are still smooth as butter. I use them in saltwater for saltwater species as well.
@@davedeefishing Appreciate it. I just ordered one, set to arrive on Monday. Any recommendations on line for it?
You the man Dave D 👍🏼
you have to get a larger size of single inline
Nice job
Thanks!
Great tips, nice catch!
Glad you enjoyed it
Scups are my favorite fish to eat. Great fishing, nice video friend. Thanks for sharing it.
Thanks for watching!
I'm going to be doing a scup specific video soon!
@@davedeefishing Excellent! I will be waiting for the video.
Hi, do you have a video of you using this rod? What is the review? Cheers
Not yet!
Love the creative problem solving and your passion to fish. Well done!👏🏻
I occasionally caught mantis shrimp while Bull raking for quahogs in Cotuit bay back in the 80’s. I made the mistake of using my bare hand to extract one from my rake and in a flash it opened up my thumb with a flick of its switchblade like arms.
It had a wild set of arms on it. Very alien looking to me as I've never seen a whole one like this in person.
Btw that is a tongue eater
100% a mantis shrimp. Looked nothing like a tongue eater.
I thought tongue eaters looked like sand fleas and were a lot smaller than that??
Definitely not a tongue eater.
At least he apologized to the fish for taking it food lol
Go to nearest outhouse on a construction site.
Yo Im from duxbury and yak all the time on south shore and cape. We should fish I got a boat as well and slay on both 😊
Some sketchy weather out there. Glad you made it in safe. Looks like the SAK river. You're a lot braver or a lot more stubborn than I am to be out there in that.
bad weather always produce the best fishing
Buzzards Bay?
Thanks for the video. Have you had much luck in the Boston area for bass?
To be honest I haven't tried at all lol. I know it's good now, but I love the cape and RI. I'll try near my house eventually lol.
@@davedeefishing Caught a few in Quincy on Friday night using a mag darter. Not a thing last night in the same spot. 🤷🏼♂️
One of my Facebook friends said the same thing. They are there though and more fish are still filtering in up here.
Absolutely mesmerizing! I'm waiting for your next video, when will you upload the next one?
Doing it now. Should be up I. 30min
@@davedeefishing Okay Thanks a lot.
Do you worry about a big fish eating the fish on your stringer and cap sizing you?
No sharks around yet in the cape. So no worries about that.
Is that fish eatable?
100% very sought after food fish in New England
Just ordered this reel and 30lb braid for catfishing on my 12ft rod
*correction, I meant my 9ft catfish rod
Where in cape?? I can catch any last week
Awesome Video Bud 🤙🏽 My very good buddy makes them Albie Snax, can wait to tell him about your video bud. Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Thanks 👍
Awesome! My first striper this year was a 32” caught on a bunker chunk!
Nice!! I do love chunking for stripes at night. Haven't done it in a while
AWESOME top water strikes brother, cool vid!!! Love how you keep it real, GREAT DAY out there. CONGRATS!!!
Awesome video and great channel! I'm learning a lot from you. Those were sum fun fights to watch. Are you adjusting your drag while fighting these fish? I'm just getting started fishing here in San Francisco bay, trying to catch Stripers (I don't know much at this point, lol) There's a lot of wind current and chop to deal with out here.... A lot of people trying for stripers are getting California halibut the last couple of weeks. Thanks!
I do adjust my drag, but in small increments to avoid applying too much drag that might cause a break off. Glad you like the vids. I used to fish for Corvina and halibut in point Loma. I sure do miss Cali fishing.
@@davedeefishing Thanks! Can’t beat the sailing here, but it looks beautiful where you are too, and the kayak fishing looks very fun!
Nice video and nice fish! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching
