Persistence Pays Off When Searching New Waters in New England for Big Carp.

Спорт

I get bored really easily with fishing if I am not challenging myself. Whether it be learning new tactics or places, I feel compelled to do more. I am at the point with my carp fishing where I know places where I could just stop at and catch a bunch of carp up here in the Boston area with pack bait and corn if I wanted to, but where is the fun in that? The small fish are fun to catch, don't get me wrong. After a long winter of learning new rigs / tactics and also scouting new places, it is time to challenge myself a little more and get out of my comfort zone by fishing weedy and unfamiliar places and spending time focusing on a single spot for days where I think might have good fish. The last spot I fished in this video, I went DAYS without a bite. I drove an hour to get to it six days within a week and half. most of those days I was getting home from work at midnight and then waking up 4-5hrs later to fish a place where I might get my 20lber. Over those 6 days in that last spot, I spombed out over 4 gallons of ground bait that I made. I used rigs that I made and I pushed myself to learn and do unfamiliar things. In the end, all the effort and frustrations paid off with not just one 20lb carp in a spot that I had never fished before... Enjoy!

Nice work Dave! Your videos are always educational, and a great primer for what I can expect to find here, locally. I’m sure you’re not doing this for the views, but if you include the state your’e fishing in the title, it could lead to more people being able to find you, and benefit from this local knowledge. (That’s how I usually search). I’ve learned so much, thank you.

I caught two decent carp this season, 27.5” and 32.5”. Sorry, no weights as I measure length for the multi species tournament I’m in.

This excellent video just motivated me to use my spod more often. Also laughed at the three day dry spell because I'm in one myself right now 😂 Also the videography was excellent 👍
