Do you use corn when fishing?
If so, how do you use it?
In this video, we did carp fishing using a lot of corn and boilies.
Of course, as always, we also catch carp!
There are some slightly challenging parts, but please take a look.

Hi , the hard corn that is not boiled is very hard for the carp to digest and has no appetite for several days or weeks. For this reason most forbid dry corn that is not boiled on their ponds. Instead, boiled corn that is soft or boxed corn such as bonduelle is ok, the carp digests it quite quickly, and his appetite is on for next day 😁

Wow! One of the best underwater video’s I’ve seen. Learned so much from that. Match the hatch is best, and they take the particles from around the edge long before they get to the middle of the pile. I’m a match angler but this really helps me understand how carp behave. It’s given me a few ideas to try out. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Good video. But why not scatter the corn freebies and then use a hook bait with corn or fake single pop up corn as a hook bait. U can see the fish are wary of the orange ball. To the point they clean up area around it. I’ve seen a lot of under water vids where the hook bait looks nothing like the free offerings. And so often the fish know there’s something that doesn’t look right. Surely entice the fish with free stuff but with a camouflaged bait, I wonder would your hooking rate be higher?

VERY GOOD VIDEO ! To select big carp (over 20 pounds), if you don't have boilies, there is no need to use a different bait, you just need the corn to be baited to be much harder than the sweet corn for bait. Soak agricultural corn for only 24 hours and do not cook it. A big carp has much more power in its pharyngeal teeth than a small one, and its lips are so sensitive that it allows it to make an initial selection of what it can ingest or not. Bait generously as in the video BUT do not place your hard corn on the baiting mat, place it 1 or 2 meters outside, big carp are very wary, they will be more easily tempted by an isolated bait. After which you have to be patient...😉

Going back quite a few years, a small group of us used to test new baits in an out of bounds shallowish bay, a few carp used to pretty much go straight in and start feeding, but most of the carp, mainly commons strangely, would just swim around the outside of the baiting area and just pick up one or two baits then swim off and then come back and do it again

Thank you for watching and commenting. I see. Thank you for your valuable input. Is it the raw corn that is the problem? What if it is boiled and softened?
You should really try RANGE CUBES (Cattle Feed) they break down in a short time like 45 minutes. Carp LOVE these large cigar sized pellets and after they have broken down they make a cloud of nutritious particles flowing over thier senses with great results in feed stimulation. Then fishing over the broken down Range Cubes with Maize or boilies , and tiger nuts is deadly. :)

A VERY old wives tale!! Corn does NOT expand in the stomach and kill fish ... it has long been passed through the digestive system before that could possibly happen! Boil corn for 24 hours and it expands virtually zero - just becomes softer - so how long would take to expand by ANY degree in the cold waters ...? YEARS!!
You can see how cautious they are, gentle picking up the bait, seemly to hold it then ejecting. Probably waiting to see if they get hooked, big beds of bait seem to be a warning, they eye it up and skirt around the edges, I am sure they do pick up the bait many times and eject it without the angler ever seeing any indication.

Sweetcorn is like haribo to carp they love it ,try sweetcorn pasties ...get a slice of bread and place your rig and hook bait in the middle of it and then half a handful of tinned sweet corn and fold the bread around it all with wet hands , the bread sticks together and binds it a in a ball containing your rig and bait then drop it in the margin you've been baiting for a few days .....they digest bread and corn very easily and the two combined make for the best not only carp bait but tench barbel and bream love it just as much plus roach . Almost all coarse fish will take bread and corn before anything else ....the old ways are best cheap too .

I don't pretend to know all about fish and corn but some fish (trout) will eat it thinking its eggs. The problem is they are not equipped to digest corn so their guts clog and they die. Some places corn is illegal . Check with your Game and Fish dept for whatever is true.

Now why would anyone use orange-colored bait when they just scattered yellow bait all around?🤔🤔 Not very bright!🤦🤦🤦

Thank you for watching and commenting. Yes, you're right! Attaching bait similar to what's around on the fishing hook increases the chances of catching fish! I understood that by watching this video too!

@@lancea7843 I see. Thank you for letting me know.
If you had fished with sweetcorn actually on the hook, not popped up, lying in the middle of the free offerings the fish would have taken the hook bait. You don’t have to use popped up hookbait, or boilies, and it doesn’t need to be hair rigged. You can catch carp just as easily fishing basic traditional methods of float fishing, ledgering, or freelined baits - all on the hook, not hairrigged.

No, hair rig is about 100% better than wasting your time with a normal hook
