It’s called a carp cam

The are bottom predator / scavengers so yes. They will take boilies especially fishy smelling ones. There are probably better baits though.. Like small Fish and Spam.

Whole corn works like a charm on carp and catfish - my buddies and I used to use this long ago and would catch tons of fish with this technique. Only thing is that your throw the corn out at near sunset and come back at the next sunrise and start reeling them in using a single piece of corn on the bottom on a number 6 or 8 hook - I liked the number 8 hook the best - yeah! really does work well

Best boilie for cats by far is a 5-6" roach 😂 leave boilies for the carp anglers who want to spend £30 on bait every time they touch the bank 🤣🤣

A kilo of boilies is 15€. I tend to use up to five boilies every day of fishing. For fedding you use cheaper pellets, corn, hemp. I never saw a point in killing a fish just to catch one to then let it go.

In Europe, a string of big fish based boilies (big enough to deter small carp) is the normal way to fish for them.

The fish is very beautiful, you caught that fish very difficult but bravo.

Well catfish eats everything... frogs, rats, leeches literally every trash in the water :D... clearly this one was well fed, if the place lack food, he could eat boilies really quick :) great video.

While targeting carp with corn, I once caught a catfish. Not as big as yours though.

Looks like a wels catfish, Silurus glanis, the most common species in Europe.

I've had at least one bite using corn. Of course, it just ripped through that line like it was nothing. .36 diameter line and a nr 8 hook isn't at all strong for a cat. Catties are srong and cute!
