What kind of rig do you use when fishing?

So interesting watching them eye the bait , I noticed the first take was when the bait was in a hollow almost hidden from the carps view when it came over it . Fascinating, river carp/wild carp are the pinnacle of carp fishing for me . Great work .

@bashab3098 I don't know how clever carp are but, as you describe, the 'hollow' is where food particles would collect naturally so the carp (all fish) would automatically feed from there. If the boillie is sat on a 'ridge' and unable to fall into a 'hollow' it follows that someting is holding it there so therefore suspect.

Hmm, seems like they don't like full size boilies but are happy to pickup broken parts. Have you tried splitting a boilie in half then inverting the 2 parts on your rig? Your blend must be good otherwise they wouldn't hoover the bits up.

Indeed, 20 mm seems a bit challenging for them to eat. When I just can't catch anything, I gradually make the boilies smaller.

@johnbloor4376 I think it's USA. Wouldn't it be mind blowing to fish in such clear water in the UK instead of some of the muddy puddles and rivers we have.

@@mattydareand yet us Americans think it would be a dream to fish in those muddy puddles and rivers 🤣 We should be thankful we have such good carp fishing. I can catch 30lb carp out of a two rivers close to me all day and night and nobody around here cares. There is zero fishing pressure for carp in the states. The cool thing is the European genetics, high shoulders and what not. They exist in the states but are very rare. I actually caught a legitimate leather carp in California. It was from a lake with a high number linear mirrors. Now I live Pennsylvania which is better than California since you can use 3 rods, bait swims legally, and night fish legally. Too many rules in California.

@@zyxwfish Personally, I'm not a big fan of carp angling (UK style) as they are an introduced and invasive species. As I understand the 'king' carp strains you describe were brought to the UK by Italian monks at monasteries. They would eat fish for religious reasons (Friday fish day) and they kept these in ponds near the kitchen. They also were good at eating scraps so piled on weight faster and they were bred to have easy to remove scales or even no scales.
