thank you for this informative video. can i crush the dandelion root and drink it with water without straining it?
If you mean, eat the dandelion root after you've infused it, I don't see why not.... give it a try, it just might not be that appealing.
The video is not so clear and evident. The plant is not explained fully. Still excellent.
Thanks, and please share more about boneset here!
I have subscribed to your channel, excellent.
Thanks for subscribing, please enjoy the 100+ videos on the channel!
Dina are you not doing videos anymore? I love this information I have always wanted to forage. I watched your liver Infusion.
Hello Dena, thanks for asking. We've paused the making of new videos, since we've created over 100 videos for you to check out on our channel. Please enjoy them!
@@DinaFalconi I will thank you.
So would it also work as a steam.inhalent??? 🤔
Thanks, it's not typically used in a steam....
Pleaseeee make a book

Thank you. How long do you need to take the tea for to clear the lungs? Yes everyone is different. But is it days, weeks, months or years? Thanks again.
As you write, everyone is different, so not sure how to answer. Generally speaking, Mullein is safe to drink, so give it a go and tell us what you learn. If dealing with an acute issue (usually taken for days) which is quite different than dealing with a chronic issue (usually taken for longer periods, like weeks).
Has anyone made ink from the root ? I would love to incorporate it into my printmaking and art 🖼️
Cool, idea! Keep us posted.
Your amazing you saved my life thank you and yhawa bless you❤.. i suffer 15 years from ibs c and gastritis that drink saved me literally
Glad!!!
Just lil question what can i add to the infusion and how much to make the infusion with antibacterial properties too? Again thank for your help❤❤@@DinaFalconi
@@ogodd9467 Not sure of your question, but if you'd like to add anti-microbial herbs to the infusion, Wild Bergamot (Monarda fistulosa) and Greek Oregano (Origanum vulgare subspecies hirtum) come to mind.
@@DinaFalconi thanks god bless you 🙏
I've learned so much from you! TY ❤
Hello Dorothy, glad you are learning! I appreciate your feedback.
How do I know I have Nettle for sure??
Hello Monica, in this video I try to show you all the ID details so you know you have the right plant. Best to match your specimen with the video images. But still, even better if you can find someone in person to verify your ID.
I trust your advice far beyond the pharmekia system. Thank you.
Hello Peter, Thanks for your comment.
thank you much! Just didi it

I have been trying to find out if I have the prickly lettuce and your video has just confirmed it thank you very much and carry on the good work

If you drink it how does it get in the lung
Good question. As with many herbs / medicines, the body metabolizes the constituents, and then moves it through the body.
1:34 how do you make syrup out of it? Can you tap one of those trees like people tap maple trees? Either way great video.
I've never heard of any one tapping cedars tree, (like maple trees), to make syrup. Syrup has been made from the berries with sugar and water (similar to how one would make other aromatic syrups), but I've not made it.
@@DinaFalconi thats so interesting thanks for the info. I have one of these trees in my backyard and have only recently started to admire it haha
Is that a giant xylophone behind you? 😮
Thanks, it's a West African balafon made with gourds and similar to a xylophone.

I absolutely will!
I’ve been making dandelion tea with the flowers and adding stinging nettle and rosemary leaves to the mix. We had an abundance of stinging nettle in our woods and our lawn is covered in dandelion and the moment so I’m making the best of it. I was wondering if the flower has healing benefits for the liver as well?
Sounds great: making the most of what is right there growing abundantly within your reach. Dandelion flowers are wonderful to consume, although not mentioned as a liver tonic (like it's roots); still very worthy!
Greek mountain sage ✨️ Tea. asthmatics need to know.
Thank you, and might you know the scientific (Latin) name for the plant? Good to use when addressing a worldwide audience.
Thank you for this 🫶🏼 I harvested some last year and still have it because I wasn’t sure how to use it. I’m grateful it’s so easy!
Welcome and really is so easy!
This was recommended this on my fyp, and I don't know why, but I Learnt something new today.
Glad!
How much to give to child? And is it good allergic wheeze?
thanks, depends on the child's size, weight, age, and particular issue. So can not really answer, but if the child is 1/2 the weight of an average adult (150 pounds) then perhaps half the amount = 1/2 cup (4oz) 1-3X a day.
And yes, generally speaking, can be helpful for allergenic wheezing.
Can I use fresh leaves?
best to use dried, but if you only have fresh and need to use right away, give it a go.
I'm in :), I think have a plant out back, need to check tomorow. Thankl you for the video.
Welcome!
It is late May 2024 here for me in central Florida south of Orlando and they are just starting to pop under oak leaf litter after our first bit of spring rains. 10:04 thanks for sharing.
Oh, good to know!
This is incredible I just subscribed and I’m excited to binge watch your content! I never heard about mullein until I came across your video. I recently heard about sea breeze therapy and also using a humidifier and adding sea salt. Just learned about milk thistle as well. Are you familiar with these other natural remedies? I spent a lot of time smoking throughout high school and never bothered to think about my lung health. Started noticing some issues with my breathing and pain in my chest so I’ve quit smoking now. But I know my lungs have taken some hard knocks. I’m actually an amateur boxer and looking to get my pro license by December but I know that I need my lungs and my overall health to be at an optimal high level so these remedies give me hope that I can reverse the damage that smoking did to my lungs. Thank you!!!! Awesome channel!
Thanks for subscribing, and glad for you to binge watch! To your questions: I don't know about "sea breeze therapy"; I like milk thistle as a liver food / tonic. Good luck with your boxing endeavors!
Thank you! Appreciate all the info!
could this also be helpful with CIPD? I eat keto diet with lots of animal fat and nothing ultra processed.
Thanks for asking.... and don't know, but worth trying.
@@DinaFalconi Thanks, I am doing it and also taking oat straw and milk oat tinctures. There is no medicine for it anyway only pharma toxins.

Is the process the same for lambs ear?

Hi Dina I got some mullein online as I ran out of what I grew. Trouble is, it’s so fine and fluffy I have my doubts. Currently battling asthma post COVID. I’m feeling my mullein is dodgy or has too much fluff! Where in Australia would I get good rough cut dried leaf ?
Hello Tanya, when mullein is cut and sifted-the way it's sold in the herb trade-it can get very fluffy. So what you have there could be plenty good. Not sure about herbal suppliers in Australia, but hoping someone in your country may know to get good quality herbs.
I'm here because I got a virus in one lung, on Dec 1, it is 6 mos later and I still have a cough. I see I have many mullein plants coming up, so here I am, hoping this will be the solution to the cough.
Thanks for your comment. Sending healing wishes to you!
The best ID I have seen.

do you know if anyone has cooked with it? i have a beautiful one growing in my greenhouse and am wondering if i can put some in my stew and if it might help this old man tend his orchard with less pain 🙂
Yes, you can definitely cook with it. See how bitter your specimen. The bitterness would be the limiting factor. So add as much as your taste buds would enjoy.
i have a nice patch of black raspberry. i have over a dozen different kinds of raspberries but the black is one of my favorites. i started with one cutting and now have a 10' long wall 🙂
Wow, 10 ft long wall of black raspberry sounds wonderful! Do you train / trellis it? Is it the straight species or a cultivar? If an cultivar, which one?
@@DinaFalconi Cumberland Black, and after the first year, i put up a couple of t-posts with galvanized wires going through it that helps support the canes i thread through them. it helps me get to the berries as the thorns are not a joke 🙂 i do this with all my raspberries, black berries, boysenberry, and tayberry. even the thorn-less varieties. i find it easier to harvest and keep the plant from making thickets and wasting space. my orchard/food forest is less than an acre so i go vertical any chance i get 🙂
@@DinaFalconi correction, the established black raspberry is Munger. the cumberland is the one i am adding to my forest this year 🙂
@@AlsanPine Thanks, and nice way to train your canes!
Just today i foraged some from coconut plantation !! I from south india kerala .. i seperated the green leaves and stored in refrigerator just a minute ago and planning to boil it tomorrow is it ok ? And i also seprated the root part too, will it be of any use ? Please guide me .. thanks for your video and just subscribed too 🎉🎉
Hello to you in South Kerala from the Hudson Valley of New York USA. Sure, leaves should stay fresh in the fridge for a few days. Roots are typically gathered after the aerial part goes dormant. Here is a video about that here: kzread.info/dash/bejne/rIBqj8aigNi_dKg.html Not sure when that is for you in Kerala.....? Thanks for subscribing and please enjoy all the videos on the channel!
another plant i use in my liquid fertilizer tea along with great mullein, dandelion, and many other "weeds" 🙂
Wonderful. Can you tell us more about how you make your liquid fertilizer?
@@DinaFalconi i have this on one of your other vids but the general idea is to get a bucket or barrel (i have several) and fill it with weeds and plants that have high nutrition value like dandelion, great mullein, comfrey, etc. the more bruised they are, the faster the process works. so when i take out plants i do not want, i put them in the barrel and beat the hell out of them with a staff. i have been thinking of modifying a mortar mix stirring attachment for a drill with sharp edges to really chop everything up like a giant food processor! once you have your plant matter in, cover it with rain water and put a lid on loose. you can add some local leaf mold to add microorganisms. you can add molasses if you like but i rarely do this. chicken, rabbit, or other animal manures can also be added provided they have a natural diet. then you just let it stew for a couple months. i put my barrels in the ground so they do not freeze and the bacteria stay alive. you will have slower production in summer but you have production all year round this way. there are many different vids on youtube on how to do this. my method is more general. i just put in what i have, when i have it. to use, i dilute 10:1 with water when watering plants. i have a backpack i have modified to connect to my hose siphon that i can dial and just water as usual. i get huge garlic this way. they are heavy feeders. i can also do folliar feeding this way. i get very robust growth because i am watering this way often. when one barrels runs out, i take the left over roughage and place in on the compost pile and start filing the barrel with weeds. there is a constant flow. you have to figure out the flow specific to your growing. no matter how large your containers, bucket or 55gal barrel, you need 3 of them to go through the cycle. one starting, one brewing, one being used. i hope this helps. i never buy fertilizer. not in the past 30-40yrs anyway 🙂
@@AlsanPine Yes, so good to hear how you do this! Thank you for all the details!
Can I purchase this herb at a health food store?
Yes, you can purchase mullein leaf dried at you local natural food store / or herbal shop. Or online from Jean's Greens or Mountain Rose Herbs.
by the way, i absolutely love your vids. i started studying herbal medicine in the early 80's and really love the way you teach. to the point and without a bunch of fluff none-sense.
Thanks for appreciating the videos! Please enjoy the channel!
I liked how you referred to the small hyssop plant as a toddler. So cute. 🙂
Thanks!
ist all over my backyard. looked for the name and saw this video. Thank you so much for all that you do and for sharing.❤
Welcome and enjoy your yard full of dame's rocket!
i have tons of great mullein all over my orchard. i absolutely love this beautiful and useful plant. it is one of the best soil builders around. i use it in my liquid fertilizer as well. always blows me away that most people consider it a weed and dump chemicals all over it and kill it.
Thanks for your comment. Cool to know that you use it as a liquid fertilizer-how do you make it?
@@DinaFalconi i have a 55gal barrel i put in as many commonly known "weeds" like nettle, mullein, dandelion, and pretty much any other local plant. add leaf mold, i have a lot of wild turkeys around and use their poop in there as well (you can use chicken poo, rabbit poo or any other animal that has a natural, or wild diet. let it sit for a couple of months. then you can use the resulting tea as a 1:10 or more dilution on your plants. it gets kind of stinky and it is best if you can propagate it over winter. i have my barrels dug under ground next to my underground greenhouse so they do not freeze. there are many vids on youtube showing many variations to the theme. the key point is to use local materials available where you are. as i propagate many herbs and plants most call weeds in my orchard, i have a very rich and free source of fertilizer. i have not purchased fertilizer for several decades. and grow 90% of what i eat and still have enough to feed some to neighbors 🙂
