In terms of smoothness (casting)..I still prefer the Zillion 10 over the 2020 Metanium MGL.
Just got the JDM model and beat it up for past 3 days. no issues, i can bomb lures and no backlashes. Most likely user error.
The JDM models are a couple hundred bucks cheaper than tackle warehouse has them for 500 plus tax I never had a JDM reel give me an issue and to pay 150 to 200 more For me, I will stick with the JDM versions
They are nice looking rods. I return mine for the reason. I’ve have a friend who told me they were horror. Show to get any warranty work done on, especially if it’s a breakage on a rod. good luck to you with the rod I hope you catch many big fish.

I fish off a kayak. I have a few expensive rods but the 50 dollar graphite ones work just as well. I don't think I'm buying anymore high dollar rods.

Really nothing different than what has been done with a fluke on a darter head from what I I have seen from it..... other than when it's vertical...oh let me tell you.... straight up and down this is a different tool!
I just picccked u a pair of these for £200 each on clearance sale at my local tackle shop . Was going to get the new model at £399 but for £400 for two of them it was silly not to .

At this time, there is no indication unfortunately. Best way is to buy from US vendor. Reminder that if you buy from JDM websites, Shimano USA will not service it.

How long was delivery and any custom fees?

How do you know if it is a US model or a JDM model?
It’s pretty obvious, US stores carry the US models and if you go to a JDM online store then they will be selling the JDM model
I just bought one off Digitaka. The 23 STRADIC C2500SXG version. It was the last one too. 30% off. Got it for $125 total. Woohoo. Can't wait to use it!!
What I noticed is the oscillation of the spool is very very slow compared to other reels having worm oscillation mechanism which is good actually and gives very precise and perfect line lay.
It outfished all other lures like Ned’s and small swim baits on Mille lacs this past prespawn/spawn and past fall bite… not only did we catch around 100 bass across two days, 95% of them came off the sleeper craw, the majority of the smallies caught were over 4lbs. It’s a slow drag bottom jig style. The hooks being exposed easily means it gets dull quick so having a lot of craws or a hook sharpener is important. I average 7-10ish before it gets destroyed and I have to super glue it. Hooks will dull quicker than the plastic’s durability (I am fishing rocks, boulders and zebra mussels on Mille lacs). It’s a highly effective smallie lure that no one is talking about. The reason why it’s so effective? It’s super muted and natural. No exposed hook, no jig head to create unnatural noises, looks like a real craw, the claws stand up in a natural posture unlike other lures that stand up in an unnatural way or just lays flat, and once again… MUTED. That’s the key along with the realistic profile. If you think $10 is too much… well think again… $5-$7 per jig… $5-$8/pack of craws… just do the math.. it’s about even.
I have 2 of the JDM models and the fish just fine, its definitely user error they are the most refined and best casting reels I have ever used.

Hard to decide. Both are very great and my answer would depend on what you are using it for. Imo, I think that the new DC system is better than the old one. Can’t wait to see the new dc system in a 150 sized reel.
I love that you said you can use a wide range of weights I’m in the market and you helped narrow down my decision. Do you recommend this for a beginner but a fast learner?

Green Bay Wisconsin. There’s a sanctuary that i found out that is only for kids (didn’t find out until someone told me and I haven’t been back since. There are signs but they are not posted throughout the lake so it’s hard to see it if you are only fishing a section of the sanctuary). The other one is the quarry in town.
JDM or USDM doesn't makes any different; truthfully it just user error; but i will said this; this reel is not made for beginner friendly. because this spool is much faster super up inertia compares to like a SLX DC or Curado DC

Not steady. It is a 4-in-one lure. It covers your hover too. Yall be rigging it wrong for the side-to-side.
The jdm version is the exact same model as the one offered in the U.S. it was the same for the previous model met15 dc. I think people are fishing it with too light of gear due to the 70 size spool as I can outcast a 110 with an alderbaran compared to the met dc.
im pretty sure the only difference is the the handle is shorter on the JDM version. but it still feels amazing.
Just bought a 5000xg version. I'm wondering if the gear inside is not too tight when I'm reeling it. I mean when I'm reeling, it's kinda a 'gap' between the gear. Do you have the same experience?
I have a vanquish 5000 and its super tight and my smoothest reel.

surprise there was no DNR there. i went fishing there before opening day and told wasnt allowed to fish yet, since its consider a "urban spot". guess they werent there this year.

I have a jdm model, it’s been fine so far. It needs a season to really judge it. My curado bfs made it three seasons and now it’s not casting right. So I’ll have to open it up and take a look. So far the only shimano or Daiwa I’ve had something go wrong with are curado’s. I have a curado K that did the same thing. It just needed a cleaning.

@@ChewyThaoFishing Yeah I really like the reel. It’s sitting on a 6’10” M poison adrena and it was made for it. I build my own rods but that combo is slick.
I have a Stella and it came with a pouch - really miss it for my Metanium DC 71 HG. No issues with casting (European batch).
i had ZERO issues with my jdm Met DC 70 and liked it...performed very well. fortunately, i was able to sell it for another steez 24. speaking of which, you'll be glad to hear the steez 24 comes with a nice reel cover.
Glad to hear no issues! It's not every JDM reel but the problem exists... I love Daiwa for doing that, i just don't like their price hike!

I only have 6 casting combos & this year I switched all my reels to the ‘24 Steez & ‘24 Metanium dc, both are awesome at jdm prices
Although i love the bait, if you leave it in the car on accident on a hot day it does seem to start melting ive had the bottom part of mine start melting over my other plastics

You can buy 2 SLX DC XT baitcaster for the price. It has has the same spool MGL 3 70 size spool.
Two very different reels. Its like comparing a Toyota Camry to a Lexus IS 500. Yes, they both get you to point A and point B but its HOW you get there that is the difference. My advice - purchase and use what you can afford.
@@ChewyThaoFishing do you know if the MGL 3 spool is actually lighter for the 2024 Metanium DC?
i have the jdm version and was experiencing the casting problems at first but after I awhile it started casting waaaaay better I also had to take some line off the spool cause of snags so i dont know if thats what helped it.
Same here! I was really underwhelmed with it but after a couple of trips it is casting way better.

I went there. Too many dam hmong ppl. They line up the shore like hmong new year. Like they dont have a life, job. Etc. I bet they dont work, sell weed for a living and live off ssi lmao. They come to devils lake every day and fill their coolers. Now less and less white bass compare to past years.
