I have a D2 cryo budget knaf. Rusting quick. Trying to force patina
looks like can break very easy while chopping smth
All right no curtain. Hell yeh keep on freeballen
🤣 🍻
I was going to grab one, but they only have the tanto style left.
I got the Boker plus version with the ingit D2, g10 and stainless steel handles. I absolutely adore it.
It is a strange design, the blade reminds me of a Kiridashi type of blade. People are saying it looks like gas station knife since it has Phillips head screws, but the screws are finished well and the knife has a quality feel to it. I would have preferred T8's myself. The blade will not open unless the button is pushed, so it is locked in place while closed. Carrying it closed in a hammer fist it could serve as an impact weapon also.
I immediately ordered one on the aesthetics alone. Once in hand I too was really impressed with the fit & finish and wish it had different deployment methods. Could have made for a nice top flipper because of the smaller size. It is fairly priced and maybe Kansept will do a larger version in the future!? Nice review.
I'm looking forward to the budget Finrir coming out. Actually all these Tenable knives are attractive and seem very decent in quality. Kansept should see strong sales on these blades.
Mfnacut is better than m390 but not as good as Cru wear
The Prometheus and the fenrir is what I’m most excited about from them
Would 100% buy the 1st one if the clip flipped
Both are great. Tenable is a step above Sencut in materials and not in price. It's a great sales move for Kansept.
Thanks for keeping the budget guys in the know. The thoughts put into this knife are sound.
Both of them look to be great work knives. Thanks for the vid!
I like the blade SHAPE for sure, and the fact that it's midsize and NOT A MINI is awesome.
I like what I see. Do you have any idea what the HRC is on that 14C28N, I didn't see it mentioned on the website.
I asked them and they're range is between 58-62- not a cryotreat as far as I'm aware so I'm assuming it's going to hit somewhere between 59 to 60 in normal circumstances
@@Rollshambo thank you for that quick response sir
Spent years making knives in D2 almost exclusively. My personal opinion is that it performs best as a blade steel when heat treated to the highest attainable hardness and tempered conservatively. And it becomes truly excellent if it is also cryo treated. It obviously has poor toughness in this state, but D2 is not a tough steel to begin with, even if heat treated to optimize toughness.
Little PSA: The reason for the two handed opening need is that to meet section 42a of German law that states: It is illegal: ... 3. Knives with one-hand lockable blade (one-hand-folder) or fixed blade knives with a blade length over 12 cm. That way by requiring you to use two hands they can get around this restriction. 👍😁 This way you can have a long folder than you are required to use two hands. That is the reason you will see most German knives need to have a pin in the blade, so it will take two hands to take the pin out, open the knife and put the pin back in.
The action is so smooth , is there any blade play with the action like that?
I'm definitely getting one , I'm a huge fan of Civivi knives and large ones too.
I heard Tom Hanks favourite steel is Cpm-m4
Dafuq? Philips screw? 😂That turned me off, and the scales could be better aswell. 😬
I’m in California… can only open carry it if it’s on the hip. 😢
No concealed carry here…
Im questioning why is 1095 just 4.5 on toughness when I think about an esee which is quiet impossible to break. Edge retention with 1.5 is poor thats for sure. But 4.5 toughness an esee ? what you knifenerds and hopefully users thinke about that?
Keep in mind these are the properties of the steel..you can make a blade tougher with a thicker blade..you can make it have more edge retention with a thinner grind...so geometry plays a bigger role.. but if you were to say take an ever made of magnacut and one made of 1095 (both with the same geometry) to a hydraulic press the one that would break first would be the one made of 1095..hopefully that makes sense 🍻
The karambit ring 🤮 whyyy
Pretty sure I explained the why..but if you missed it Ira because with a wace it allows you to quickly pull it already deployed from the pocket while I'm a secured grip..but I'm sure you're just over there puking because you can't see why that would be useful😂
I don’t know if I’d say it’s the best budget knife, but it’s pretty darn good, AND they make a left handed version. Good ergos, good blade steel, and overall pretty decent for the price.
I think you might be only one to get the "gravity knife" thing right! Great video!!!
My first Two Suns knife will be my last. The company doesn’t stand behind their product, won’t acknowledge your concern, will ignore the photos of the defective knife-after they requested them, claim the defect is actually damage, deny any warranty coverage and generally tell you to eff off. There are plenty of Chinese knives that are higher quality. I strongly suggest that you select one of them.
I work at a lumber mill and our planer blades were d2 for many years, and they would runnaound 400,000 board feet a shift and wouldvonly change the blades every other day, and they wouldcstill be razor sharp.
I own #222 from the first drop, and it seems to have a good heat treatment and high hrc. The blade shape didn't work for me, so I changed it because it was not good for piercing.
Just wish the plug matched a little better. Aside from that I feel you should have won.
Do S110v pleeeeeeeease!
I just got my first quality made knife. It's a Spyderco Manix 2 in S110v. I'm absolutely in love with it and I've got the itch to buy more. That being said it would be really cool to hear a breakdown of S110v on steel snobs!
who dies with the most utility knives wins
Very nice 👌
The blade style is politely called impractical or fugly.
Does magnacut loose a lot of toughness if being hardnend over 62 hrc, to 64 or 65 hrc?
I love everything olight.
You didn’t mention the blade steel.
04:38 😂. I did mention the bladesteel
The Phillips screws make the knife look cheap. Sry
I carry both, usually multiples.
Titanium handle scales on a fixed blade is cool as long as they don't charge over $200. Even that's high for a fixed blade IMO. Great looking knife. 👍🔥🔥🔥. It's probably worth $250 being made here in the USA. Seems like alot for a knife that doesn't fold though to me.
I'm a fixie edc guy for many years. Haven't edc'd a folder since I almost lost half an index finger to a Cold Steel XL Vaquero. That and as I age I noticed less dexterity in my hands. Used to use an Esee Izula 2, great knife and still have a couple. But I found the Creely Mako in magnacut, what a perfect knife for a small ranch. Feed bags, twine, leather, pvc, etc. So far, quarterly stropping and a once a year sharpening seems to work. The Mako is an excellent blade, handle looks weird but melts into a medium/large hand.
I digg that blade, awesome knife!
I’ve been falling down the fixie train brother. I’m finding it easier to carry then folders nowadays
I love me some pocket fix blades, I always got a pocket fixed blade on me I'd really like to get my hands on that knife there is just one more thing that kind of sucks about that knife, I don't own it😂
I just ordered a white river model 1 that reports a hardness of 62-64. Very excited to try it out
It is a beautiful knife. But my reason for a fixie is for much more demanding work than a folder. Especially hunting, camping and if it ever happened - survival and self defense. The slick handle and lack of a finger guard make this a great "gentleman's" or Camp Chef fixie. Thanks for the vid!
It has a finger guard and you can get it in micarta if you don't want a slick handle but I'll give it to you on the size not being great for self defense ..that said I don't personally carry a knife for self defense so for me that one is a non issue..no for me it's slaying cardboard..cutting materials like plastic, and if I don't trust the steak house cutting my food😂
Carry Both
I suppose that's why jeans have multiple pockets ...😂
