Like it a lot Bro especially the scales have modded all of my Spydies so completely get it. Cage definitely needs replacing thing Brass with Brass hardware would look amazing with those scales but not with that clip, like the clip just not with brass so probably blue or black. Thought all of you had some nice builds

I think I’m where you used to be, I just don’t like the way Spyderco’s look. But the more I see with these aftermarket parts like MC’s Shaman, Robs Knife Nerdry just showed off all of his, now I’ve seen Doodys and yours. I really like Doodys but if I had to choose one, I’d choose your build, mainly due to the pocket clip. Anyhow, they are starting to grow on me.

I liked doody’s build for sure. But imo, this should have won. Both used metonboss parts and I love the company. These were the nicer scales and using their clip as well just flows well. The thought being the rockscale hardware was a smart move and they look great too.

Thanks brotha, honestly I wouldn't have done anything differently with the exception of the ball cage, which wasn't so much of an oversight as it was just an issue of funds being available. I appreciate the support🍻

@@Rollshambo figured the cage was next as soon as I saw it and you did touch on that in your vid. Definitely a beauty of a build and solid enough still to beat the crap out of lol. The manix 2 is one I’ve honestly never picked up just because I’m so set on frame/liner/bolster locks and a classic detent feel. I’d past history has taught me anything, it’s that detent and action really dictate how long I keep something. I avoid bar locks and most button locks for this reason. I want a mordax/Malibu so badly but I’m scared it’ll be a fast catch and release

I would add the ti cage with the blue glow rhino. I think that would really set off nicely

It is beautiful now but i gotta go with knifedope! That wild banana and magnacut got me actually liking a spyderco. 💪🗡

All 3 are great. Jason would have fared way better if he'd chosen another color. Your pocket clip is great despite those T6 screws.

There are titanium cages for the Manix 2 with various sorts of tritium inserts. blue, or white maybe green glows.

Where have you seen the tests of the plastic cage failing? I would like to see the settings, all the tests to failure I’ve seen the fastener that holds the steel bar above the bearing fails letting the knife close slightly and rendering it mostly inoperative. The tests I seen where cold steels and blade hq but I’d love to see the ones where the cage fails. I’ve thought about upgrading mine but mostly for a better tactile feel never considered the strength aspect.

Just wish the plug matched a little better. Aside from that I feel you should have won.

Aren't the Manix 2 clip screw T8? Tried my manix 2 XL clip screws which are T8s fit that same exact metonboss clip of mine.

The t8 screws did not fit with this clip. Then again this is a regular manix which is 3 years old
