Eh, calling it a gravity knife is a stretch IMO, if that’s a gravity knife then every button lock, axis lock, spine lock etc is also a gravity knife, I don’t really subscribe to the idea that a lack of other deployment methods makes a button lock into a totally different thing. I dunno I just feel like we should reserve the term “gravity knife” for more unique gravity mechanisms like the exo. Cause me taking the thumbstuds off my bugout doesn’t really make it a “gravity knife” lol at least in my opinion

The definition of a gravity knife is - "A gravity knife is a knife with a blade contained in its handle, and that opens its blade through the force of gravity" So because the only way to open it is via holding the button and wrist flicking it is a gravity knife, this is also why civivi discontinued the original elementum button lock

im suprised people are saying this is new .its more a button lock more then a true gravity knife .also the entire design im almost positive they took inspiration from a quartermaster mr strickland ;)

It's an exoskeleton design and meets the definition of gravity knife because you can only open it by force of a wrist flick while holding the button

@@Rollshambo i gethwta u mean by defenition but its still a button lock imo ,i would wager that most knife nerds would also call it a button lock lol. i know its not a thing but just in my mind i feel like gravity knives should be all otfs lol the only design i can even think of that is sord of side opening would be a jacobs ladder knife .like a triple action or tri folder ect

It is a strange design, the blade reminds me of a Kiridashi type of blade. People are saying it looks like gas station knife since it has Phillips head screws, but the screws are finished well and the knife has a quality feel to it. I would have preferred T8's myself. The blade will not open unless the button is pushed, so it is locked in place while closed. Carrying it closed in a hammer fist it could serve as an impact weapon also.

You mentioned the original Civivi Elementum button lock. I’m confused as to your opinion on it…it’s a gravity knife too, by the definition used on the Oknife. Mine has zero blade bounce so that makes it a gravity knife? Thanks for the video 🤘🏻

Interesting knife, but I feel like it's a little misleading to call it a gravity knife, at least in the modern interpretation pioneered by Reate and expanded recently by Remette. Those two companies have conditioned us to associate "gravity knife" with "out the front." I'd call it a momentum, or if you must, gravity deployed button lock. Are these manufactured by Kizer like the rest of the O Knife line?

The knife is actually kind of cool. With no bounce it solves a big issue. But an aluminum clip will bend quite easily compared to steel or titanium so I think that may be the Achilles heel? The Stretch is a cool innovative take. Thanks for the vid!

The people saying it's not a gravity knife are missing something vital: NO DETENT!! You literally must press the button to "unlock" the blade, then flick to open. Yes you can flick a normal button lock knife but you can also slow roll it etc but the blade is held in place with the detent. That's the difference. YOU HAVE TO PRESS THE BUTTON TO OPEN THAT'S NOT THE CASE ON A NORMAL BUTTON LOCK KNIFE OMG

The more I think about who designed it the more it makes sense to me..Exoskeleton Knives is not known for conservative or classic designs and this is 100% his design..I think it's cool they went with an out of the box designer, and the cut test truly shocked Me on the performance..not entirely sold on the locked button design but it's pretty good to use all the same
