Glad this got an update. The edc27 was honestly pretty innovative, the oled display is pretty unique in the flashlight world and the shape makes this unique as well. It all comes with some drawbacks of course but any light that shape will have those... Just look at the olight arkfeld, it doesn't have a display and only like a third of the lumens and costs more money...
I’m absolutely getting this for my birthday

Congrats! I'm glad to see they brought the display back.
Amazing! Everything you updated is why I had the EDC27 still waiting in my cart, the UHi is an easy sell for me now! Awesome. Quick question, was tying to find the color temp of the new LEDs, can you share that please?

Thank you. This is the reason why I want to upgrade to the newer model. I found that on my EDC27, the colour temp is too yellow so I hope that the newer one is whiter.
Now that's how a flashlight video is done! Does the proximity sensor prevent the light from activating in the 1100 lumen mode? If not, is the 1100 lumen mode powerful enough to burn things close up? Thanks!

Thank you. At 1100 L its definitely hot for extended runtimes. The sensor is only for turbo.

@NitecoreStore looks like they made the best version yet! My only concern now is that at least one of the lockout stages should prevent damage/ injury on all output levels.I mean why have a lockout at all if there's still a chance of it coming on in your pocket?

The sensor activates on the High (1100), Turbo, and Strobe settings, but only when the light is initially turned on. For example, if you block the head and turn on the light to the 1100 mode, the beam will decrease to 200 lumens. Removing the obstacle will return the beam to 1100 lumens, and it will maintain this brightness even if you block the beam again, until the light is turned off. I guess the idea behind this design is that the sensor is to prevent overheating when the light is accidentally turned on, but if you are holding the light, you are in charge and are responsible for how you use it.

@Let_there_be_flashlight thank you for that clarification. I'm going to pick one of these up.
Now that's a worthy upgrade from the EDC27 V1

missing a true moon light mode. Love my 27 but can't really use it inside when I don't want to disturb people

Another 100 lumens?
@Studat

@@tyronewalker5764 you wouldn't notice a 100 lumens. That's marketing 😉
comparison with EDC25? great flash light both!
They put in the inhouse built UHi20 LEDs to increase their profit margin, I still prefer the floodier beam of the Luminos SST40 in the original EDC27. And it still comes with that cumbersome electronic lockout, what the heck Nitecore?

They doubled the candela, I see it as a win. It's also a round emitter which is quite special. Noone in the flashlight community likes the sst40, it's an outdated and shitty emitter, glad they changed it.
Alright. My wallet is ready
It's an excellent light...not for me. But I would buy this for a gift. Sweet light.

Right on
I have to buy the pocket clip separately?? Hard pass
@Let_there_be_flashlight

Where did you get this impression? The pocket clip is pre-installed in each light.

I thought it read that way that it was separate
Will Nitecore consider a future update where the battery replacement is user-friendly, or a two-way charging so it could be used as a portable charger too? Would also love to see better IP rating! For now I'm definitely getting my hands on one.
RELEASE THE TM30K ALREADY!!!

Not possible in this form factor. You can't buy these obscure battery shapes anyway...
you could've just said 4.3, instead of saying "four point thirty"
And EDC25 with the display. Can't make a shorter description...

Many people asked for exactly that. How did we do?
I dont get why they produce square flashlights that have such poor performance? The Fexin PD36R and puts out 1600 lumens for 2 hrs 50 minutes, 800 lumens for 5 hrs 49 minutes, 350 lumens for 8 hrs 24 minutes, 150 lumens for 26 hours, and 30 lumens for 115 hours. It is just over an inch diameter, and less than 5-1/2 inches long. The optional battery can also be charged via USB-c and can be a backup power for your cell phone in an emergency. These should be way better than that! The Fenix is more of a spotlight with a decent spill whereas this is more of a floodlight, but performance wise the difference is night and day.

Any square shaped light is gonna perform much worse than a regularly shaped light. That's because the batteries are smaller and they heat up quicker as well as less space for large leds and reflectors... If you want maximum performance, don't buy this form factor. No need to bash new designs, performance isn't everything, it's how you use the light... Any flashlight these days does the job
