I am so tired of this "Tons of Volume on Tap" nonsense. Nobody needs all of that boost. They should cut that in half and make the volume control more sensitive like on the Atlas III. So many pedals tout 40+ decibel boost as something good. Nobody needs all of that. Set your volume at your amp.

Great demo as always! EAE swung for the uncharted fences with this one; I know it’s not landing with everyone, but I’ve been loving seeing the different applications and personalities using it in the wild

I’m just some guy, but this is what I’d love to see more of from builders. Pushing the boundaries of what a guitar pedal can do. We’ve got enough tube screamers people! 😭

I bought a yellow one in 1980. I still think it sounds right. Tried Tube Screamers and Fullertons but prefer the DOD 250. Try a strat neck pu wide open, roll back the treble a bit and run the DOD 250 at 12 o'clock or more. Wooo Wooo.

Both are great amps, the Deluxe edged out the Pro IMHO. The Pro has more head room true, but lacked the richness of tone from the Deluxe. Great video... I stick with my '65 DRRI unless someone give me a Pro, then I will do both.

Did you use it into an amp, or into a pc? Did you use any other pedals with a digital dry-through, like an H9 or H90? I can believe that when stacking a few digital-dry pedals in a row, or running them into a pc or a digital modeller, all the latencies stack up, and eventually it’ll get noticeable. But running just the Chroma into an analog amp, I’ve not felt it to have any noticeable latency at all.

Jamie Stillman from Earthquaker says this is pretty much his favorite pedal overdrive. I just bought one on a whim and it was SO much better than I expected. Has a spongy sag and a crunchy attack and colorful blooming notes and complex harmonics and overtones. Just a really musical pedal! I love the new sparkle hot rod yellow / gold too.

It's interesting! I know it's not technically a reverb, but it does have some similar characteristics and seems like it can be used as one. It seems to kinda sit in the world of the Gen Loss too. Cool to see other companies besides Chase Bliss get into that space. It can only help to push innovation and progress.

The effects of this I feel could capture the tone of a resonator guitar. I also think it’s a pitch shifter as well. With the ability to give fuzz an octave up and down effect. I think that for a studio musician this would be a valuable piece of gear. I am not a studio musician. I do think this is amazing. Just not something I would ever use.

Yup, it still needs to be said! Some of the best tones from a fuzz pedal are with the guitar volume backed off a bit. Great demo of the versatility of this effect, but also great in mind, the Greer Black Fuzz is based on the Electra overdrive circuit, not a fuzz face line.
