The fruits of his labor are evident in the form of the Continuum and the Continuum Stage amplifiers, representing the pinnacle of clean-style amp design.
The DNA of these amplifiers is deeply rooted in a fusion of classic "Black Panel" and "D-Style" front-end topology and voicing. Throughout the past 25 years, the layout, construction, and component selection have undergone meticulous refinement, resulting in the sophisticated designs available today. The fundamental philosophy behind these amplifiers is to provide players with a sense of familiarity in voicing and feel, allowing them to showcase their guitars, pedals, and musical creativity.
Both the Continuum and Continuum Stage share the same front end, ensuring a consistent and recognizable character. However, they diverge in the phase inverter and power section.
The Continuum standard aligns more closely with the tradition of a "Black Panel" amplifier, featuring a standard phase inverter and power section. This design imparts the classic amplifier feel with increased saturation at the onset of the power section. Players can expect a subtle bounce and sag in their notes, contributing to a rich and dynamic playing experience.
On the other hand, the Continuum Stage maintains the same front end but undergoes a significant transformation in the phase inverter. Shifting towards a higher power or "Hi-Fi" topology, it provides ample clean headroom and a punchier response to the power tubes. This variant is reminiscent of the classic "D-Style SSS" amplifiers, boasting extended low-end response and a pronounced immediacy in note attack.
