The Lauren Audio B100 Fuzz pedal takes inspiration from the B100 amp cards of vintage Neve gear, back when germanium transistors were used. These amp cards had a design akin to a fuzz pedal, sparking the idea to create a pedal version. The B100 Fuzz retains several unique circuit elements from the original B100 cards, yet remains fundamentally a two-transistor fuzz.

The pedal features three main controls:
Input Control: Functions like a passive fader, regulating the amount of audio entering the circuit.
Gain: An active control that adjusts the AC gain of the second transistor, similar to most fuzz pedals.
Output: Another passive fader controlling the output level.
The simplicity of these controls belies the pedal's versatility. With the gain turned up and the input dialed down, the pedal behaves like a classic fuzz, offering traditional roll-off characteristics. When both the input and gain are maxed out, the pedal produces rich overtones, especially when the guitar volume is slightly rolled back. An internal bias adjustment allows for tweaking in response to significant temperature changes, enabling a range of gating and dying fuzz effects.
