Owning a home means cost of living stability and we can see that with rent increases in the last 4yrs. I own a house and a small cottage on the property. Within the year my cottages rental income will pay 95% of my mortage and taxes. I'm still 20yrs from retirement and will be socking that money away for 20yrs.

I think his argument is that even responsible people will spend more when they're using plastic vs cash. While this can happen for many people, it doesn't for me. Whenever I use my card, I treat it as if I'm paying cash. And I get free cash back...

She needs to put her and her husband's money in a trust for each adult child and monthly withdrawals will be allowed from the trust up to the amount of money EARNED, not donated. If no money is earned then no money can be withdrawn.

"it's not an option not to buy" This lady right here is the demographic that is continuing to push home prices higher. Buying when it's the absolute worst time to do so even when you cannot afford it out of fear. That fear will really make you fearful once you realize the situation you put yourself into

The better questions are “what would your rent payment be if you sold?”, “how can we increase your household income?” “What’s the interest rate on your home?”, and “can you make the house payment if you cut out other excess?” , “can you get a second job?” $3900 take home for 2 people is probably about $15/hr first each person. Idk what it’s like in Orlando, but I see signs for part time jobs with no experience offering over $20 per hour. I saw one sign offering $20 to $23 per hour for someone to scoop ice cream.

7,000 can’t buy d*** in the real estate or air bnb game… you need to add an extra 2 zeroes to that 7,000 to get anywhere in the real estate game… Dave Ramsey tells us poors how to invest as if we have fat stacks just sitting in our bank account… yeah I would NOT need your advice how to make wealth if I had wealth to invest… some of us, a lot of us are living pay check to paycheck cause A**holes like this buy up all the homes and put it on air bnb or VRBO, decimating the available homes to buy. I’m about 10,000 years away from having enough money to buy a home just to live in, let alone make an investment property

Haven’t used a cc since 2019. My net worth has also swung over $500k in the positive. Not a coincidence. I don’t miss the points. I don’t miss the “cash back” ($2000 a YEAR? lol) I don’t miss having to push my purchases into the future. I don’t worry about balances. I don’t worry about owing someone. A credit card is just a little payday loan lender. Not taking the gamble. I’ll pay with my own money and build wealth.

Homeowner cult in these comments. Been in the market for a bit but everything is overpriced trash and even new home communities are full of low-life people who are maxing out their DTI to get into a home but then act like scummy renters once in the place. No thanks. Not paying top dollar to be among those people. Bad neighbors can ruin your property value.

The point is that the money she borrowed she would have had anyway otherwise it would have gone into the car. So the car step is bullshit. You could just have bought a cheap car and invest the money without the "3 cent" cost

My friend bought her son a pub as he said he wanted to be an entrepreneur. This young man full of ambition could not get his backside out of bed until 10 minutes before the pub was due to open. He seemed to think the money would just come through the door without any work being done, needless to say it didn’t last, the only thing that expanded was not his business it was his weight

7 years ago when I bought my house my mortgage was £850 and rents were £1,200. Now because I've overpaid and got a slightly lower interest rate my mortgage is £525 and rents are £1,650. It's a new build so I've probably spent £300 in maintenance. I've replaced some fence posts, boards and a arris rail, a leaky coupler under the sink and a couple of flushvale seals.

For the same reason some people are fat and some are fit, control yourself to not eat too much. Control yourself to not spend too much. You can come up with all the excuses you want but the result is the same, for some valid reasons you are unable to control yourself to get what you want. Start with meditation 🫂

2023 was a challenging year, but I managed to make $100,000 before taxes as the sole breadwinner and head of household. It's a good starting point, but I'm always looking ahead on how to improve. I have 2 autoloans and hoping for a miracle to offset them as refinancing is more expensive in the long run.

You might want to consider starting with a different approach, like the snowball method. Focus on one loan, usually the smallest one, and direct all your resources to pay it off while maintaining payments on the others.

Another option is to work with a money coach or investment advisor. While an investment plannner focuses on the long term, a money coach can help pay off all your debts, maximize cash flow, and create systems for proactive money management.
