If they have any, it must all be spent immediately on just useless stuff. They are addicted to the small hit of dopamine they get from opening a package or acquiring something. I know one person who does not even open the packages he gets when he 'wins' online auctions.

Pay rent and electricity (and water if you pay separately). If your landlord finds out your electricity is cut off they might evict you because some city ordinances don’t consider a home habitable without electricity and water. I have seen complexes condemned because the owner was supposed to pay the water bill from rent collections and didn’t so it was shut off. All the residents had to move out within a few days.

It’s not victimless. My husbands dad used his number for a car loan because his credit was toast. We didn’t find out until we went to buy a house and he had bad marks on his credit. His dad was dead by then so not a darn thing we could do.

That's just not how it works. Almost everywhere you rent requires a background check and they credit score check. They run your information to see if you've been evicted before. You also have to pay for application fees and fees to run the background check before you even get approved. That's pretty standard now. ​@Forced_Drama

There are some serious mental health and/or addiction issues that aren't being discussed. I make $100k, we are in the process of moving out of state. I've been paying for 2 places for the last few months, am current on all my bills, and invest 15% of my income. There is a gambling, drug addiction, or something else going on in that household.

sadly idiocracy is becoming a reality. high IQ and slightly above average IQ people are having few to no kids while welfare dependents which trend low IQ like 85 or so are having tons of kids and obviously the whole family are welfare leeches. so our natural selection pressure is selecting for low IQ welfare leeches that dont want to work, and the high IQ people with integrity, work ethic etc wait until they're financially stable to maybe have 1-2 kids which is still below the 2.1 birth replacement rate. welfare and birth control destroy every country where its available. I did property management for a while. I found out during the process of filing one eviction that the lady had used her daughter's SSN. Turns out this is very common. A lot of families have the same names passed down through the generations, so it can be hard to initially catch. The eviction SSN checker database flagged it saying the birthdate didn't match. I ran it like 3 times thinking I somehow made the mistake. I finally started digging back through her tenant file and realized what she had done. Daughter has same name as her. Be very mindful of this when verifying your prospective tenants.

If his income is true, it makes me angry that such a stupid and irresponsible person earns that, while I scrap to make ends meet.

I have not been this frustrated on one of these calls for a while.

I've rented for the majority of my life and have never been evicted. I make $3,600 a month after taxes, have a mortgage of $1,550, no car payment, and no credit card debt. It's all about being smart with your financial decisions.

He’s a squatter and is entitled to your homes.

This is baffling to me. He makes more in just his Army retirement than my wife and I do put together but yet we have a $300,000+ home with 80% equity, no other debt but the house, just paid cash for a 2018 Benz, have over 100 grand in the bank and have a $10,000 emergency fund. If we made what he does, I'd be living so high on the hog I wouldn't know how to act. This is plain and simple a money management problem, not an income problem.

I would be willing to bet that the car they "had to buy outright" was either a BMW, Mercedes Benz, Land/Range Rover, or Cadillac (or some other brand notoriously expensive to repair), the refrigerator is fully stocked with beer (or some other form of alcohol), there are cases of cigarettes available, everyone in the household is wearing "genuine" NFL, NHL, MLB (or name any other sports franchise) gear, the vacations they take are to visit the Florida/California mouse, and they are sipping their beverages out of Yeti mugs.

To be fair, often people in service get injured and the military no longer wants them. They are able to do *something* but not the job they were trained to do. In cases like that, it's completely right that the military pays out people who were actually injured even if they do work after getting the boot.
