My friend just threw a lavish wedding (about 50k) when he and his wife were already 100k in debt from student loans alone. Now they are planning a baby. Im always in awe how this debt and reckless spending never stressed these people out. They should do a Netflex series on whats going on in the minds of these people

Credit cards, expensive cars, student loans she doesn’t need, doesn’t know her own income or his, and IRS debt. It’s about as dumb as it gets. The question to ask people like this is “do you want to keep being an idiot and digging deeper and deeper, or do you want to grow up and be a little bit on top of your own life?”

I would say most of us don’t need them all of the time but most of us do need to move stuff. I have had to ask friends and relatives with trucks to do things for me. I inherited a pickup last year that I sold thinking I didn’t “need” it. Now I am trying to figure out how to move some stuff from another state to mine wishing I had one. Companies are quoting me thousands of dollars as if I was moving a household which I’m not. I have a small SUV and decided to pay $500 for a hitch plus installation. I plan drive down and rent a trailer which is much cheaper than renting a truck. I don’t have to book a flight and rent a car to bring my stuff back. I vote SUV (i buy mine used) and a hitch as the way to go.

Different cultures. In Germany I hear credit cards aren’t a big thing, they prefer debit cards. Germans aren’t as materialistic I don’t think. Your average rent is $1000 meanwhile the US is double at $2000. Your cities and towns are more walkable bikeable, better public transportation and driving distances are less so you save there. Schooling and healthcare costs lower. Average take home of a German is $2853 and average take home of an American is around $3300. So while we may make a bit more on average our cost of living and way of living is more expensive. If you’re more than average though in the USA you can make a a lot more than in Germany and becoming a home owner is easier from what I’ve read. So there’s pros and cons.

To the comment about "we are going to owe money to the IRS at the end of the year because we haven't been paying during the year" - pay it NOW! Don't wait until the end of the year. Penalties and interest accrue DAILY, so don't wait another day. Q1 payments were due middle of April so if you pay it now then you will only have penalties and interest for less than a month. The wisest thought that is in everyone's minds today is to invest in different income flows that do not depend on the government, especially with the current economic crisis around the world. This is still a good time to invest in gold, silver and digital currencies (BTC, ETH... Stock)

They could try to defer the loans for now until they get their life situated. I don’t understand people who take out loans for school. I personally would never do it that’s why I went to a community college. I got my associate degree without debt and got jobs that pays the bills and still save.
What made them think this was a good time to pop out a kid????

Many here call this unnecessary type irresponsibility “sacrifice” when having kids.
Let me guess. Blame inflation, not years of irresponsible spending. You are supposed to pay the taxes quarterly throughout the year. I overpay in the event I end up making more than expected. This is just purely impulsive and they egg one another in a negative way.
Have they seen the price of trucks. A 35k truck could have rust and hundred thousand miles on it.

You can buy a 2019 transit van with 50K miles for 21K right now. Go up to 100K miles which are still great vans and you're in the 12K ballpark. They could have saved for 6 months , sold the Mazda and had one outright

This is why I love Jade. She called her out big time. That's the hard truth, people dont want to he honest. She's worried about debt but is ready and willing to take on more debt. Also, it goes to show that people truly don't want to do what it takes to get out of debt. After they said to sell the car, it was silence on the phone. It will only be for the short term.
Jade handled that call well.
In a nutshell the jeep girl is broke. This is not mocking girls who buy jeep. I don't understand why they buy such expensive vehicles? She is just one and I know at least a handful of them who are in debt just because of the jeep and why ? Because it's trending.... beyond my understanding!
$100k in debt, having a baby, her expensive car, and went in major debt for a truck. What are people thinking?? This is NUTS!! She doesn't even have a job!

And can only account for $2400.00 a month income. Im not pessimistic but how is there any possible solution? Ok. So work truck for 35k is reasonable, a almost paid off mazda, thats fine, just why the hell theres another 25k jeep? 30k cc is a problem, 20k student loan isnt that bad tbh, they need 5 years to fix this

if you start investing into a high yield savings account at 5% and you have a mortgage at 2.5% and your mortgage payment is 1000.00 and you invest 1000.00 a month into a high yield savings account.. That first month you would have paid about 300 in interest towards the mortgage meanwhile your 1000.00 in your high yield savings account made 50.00 dollars. The amount of interest paid in the first few years of the mortgage loan outweighs the amount of interest accrued in a high yield savings account. That's why the guy l initially responded to giving me 'simple math' left out the first 5 years of the 15 year mortgage. Don't try and insult my math when you simply can't comprehend simple math.

I have a loan for the next 4.5 years but it's at 0% interest. Is it still advised to clear that off or should I just leave it there if it is not accumulating interest? From my perspective it makes more sense to just leave it there and invest the rest as inflation will eat away at some of that loan and I can make interest on the money that's invested. I would like to hear someone's opinion regarding this.
Wonder how old they are
Oh no! I have listened to too many of these calls. When Mr. Kamel said "When is the baby due?" (6:54) I thought he said "What does the baby do?" That is, what is that baby doing for a living and how much money is it bringing in? Like the kid needs to start working OT or something.

I agree with everything other than Jade saying the husband doesnt make enough on his business to qualify as a job. $5k a month is not bad for a slow month. He does need to make more though considering the taxes.
I own a business- they are in no position to run a business! Those incomes are side hustles- they need to get a real job!
I never understand complaining about the work truck tho, if its not creating extra value go out to Home Depot and find somebody who needs stuff taken to their house and offer to do it cheap to make a couple bucks and keep doing it, move things for people on one of the apps and pay the truck off.
what are the odds this person call back in a year and they are 200k in debt and she still doesnt know how much $$ she is paying herself?
