    I hate it when they say "Normal" I KNOW IN FACT, NO ENGINEERS DESIGN THIS TO MAKE A CHIRP! Unless you can clearly show and state in the design documents that the chirp is "by design", it isn't. Seriously.... just cause it doesn't KILL someone doesn't mean it isn't faulty engineering. DO THE RIGHT THING Subaru. Lots of loyal people out there, don't need this excuse.

    Thanks! 17" Liquid Metal Shadows wrapped with 245/65R17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. If you need a hybrid all-terrain/mud-terrain, I *highly* recommend them, otherwise, the Falken Wildpeak AT3W's are an awesome choice that's a little bit more road friendly yet very capable off road.

    In your opinion, how would you rank/compare the offroad capabilities of the ascent and the two wilderness trims?

  • @SubaruAmbassadorRobert
    @SubaruAmbassadorRobert7 күн бұрын

    Hmmm... The Ascent is beastly powerful like the Outback Wilderness, and (with sway bars connected) can articulate any corner fully, unlike the smaller Subies, so that's a big plus. But, it has a MASSIVE belly and horrible angles, so, it hands down loses in those areas compared to all three Wildernesses. It does climb pretty effortlessly though, in some ways, better than the three Wildernesses, if it's moderately rutted, because it can keep wheels on the ground on changing terrain. Out of the factory, I'd choose a Wilderness over an Ascent though - the Ascent needs a bunch of work to make it off-road suitable (wheels, tires, stuff to improve angles). And if power is what you want, the Outback Wilderness is the clear winner. But, all three are great options. For better angles and a decent amount of space, I'd go Forester Wilderness. If you don't carry around a lot, and want something with great angles, I'd definitely go Crosstrek Wilderness.

    I came here after seeing a post you made claiming that these CVT Subarus are more capable than the older ones with 5EAT trans and I just thought that was the fucking funniest thing I've read all year. Your piece of shit CVT based Subaru will never be even remotely as capable as the older ones with traditional transmissions. I'm literally watching you spin all over the place in this video places that I would have no issues with. Please smoke less crack before posting online. 😂🤡

    This one does too, either direction. The way we were heading, it would take us to Big Water, where there's what we would call a "market" (here, we mostly use the term to refer to a small store that sells bread, dairy products, and some other household staples, though sometimes we use it to refer to an actual market with many sellers). The direction we came had a similar market/store in Escalante (which is where we stopped for some more supplies before attempting this road).

    How did the Ascent compare to the Outback & Forester?

  • @SubaruAmbassadorRobert
    @SubaruAmbassadorRobertАй бұрын

    My angles are a LOT worse, so, it was easier for me to hit the nose or drag the bumper or scrape the undersides, but, it otherwise compares really well to the Outback Wilderness. The way it spools up power is a little different, even though the drivetrains in the OBW and Ascent are so similar, which gives me a little edge crawling up stuff. The Forester Wilderness has better angles and is easier at doing a bunch of stuff. The OG Forester has the trials of all of the old school Subaru drivetrains where it takes more effort to get up stuff and needs to "speedbump" its way over things the OBW and Ascent can easily slow crawl.
