On April 5th, 2023, Subaru debuted the next entry into the Subaru Wilderness family - the new 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness.
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is the latest addition to Subaru's growing lineup of off-road-ready vehicles. Based on the popular Crosstrek crossover, the Wilderness gets a number of upgrades designed to make it more capable on the trails, including a raised suspension, all-terrain tires, and a host of other features, including Dual Mode X-MODE system.
One of the most notable changes to the Crosstrek Wilderness is its suspension. The ride height has been increased by 0.8 inches, and the front and rear tracks have been widened by 0.6 inches. These changes give the Wilderness a more planted feel on the trail, and they also help to improve its approach and departure angles.
The Crosstrek Wilderness also comes standard with all-terrain tires, which are designed to provide better traction in mud, snow, and other off-road conditions. The tires are mounted on 17-inch alloy wheels, which are also designed to provide better off-road performance.
In addition to its suspension and tires, the Crosstrek Wilderness also gets a number of other off-road-ready features, including a front skid plate, a rear differential lock, and a raised roof rack. The front skid plate helps to protect the engine and other vital components from damage, while the rear differential lock helps to provide better traction when one of the rear wheels loses traction. The raised roof rack can be used to carry additional gear or supplies when you're on the trail.
Inside, the Crosstrek Wilderness gets a number of upgrades designed to make it more comfortable and convenient for off-road use. The seats are heated, and the steering wheel is heated and leather-wrapped. The Wilderness also comes standard with Subaru's Starlink infotainment system, which includes a 11.6-inch touchscreen display, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto.
The 2024 Subaru Crosstrek Wilderness is powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 182 horsepower and 176 pound-feet of torque. The engine is paired with a continuously variable transmission (CVT) and Subaru's Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system.
