TSB 09 106 23: Exhaust Manifold Weld Crack - Gen 6 OB Turbo and Leggy Turbo and Gen 1 Ascent to 2023. HOW TO LOCATE THE WELDS.
WITH your skid plate or underside brush guard off, this is where to check the exhaust manifold welds on your 2019-2023 Subaru Ascent, or on your 2020-2023 Outback/Legacy turbo (including Outback Wilderness).
If yours cracked, replacement is covered under either the "Basic New Car Warranty" (3yr/36,000 miles) or Subaru Added Security Gold if you opted for that, or Federal Emissions Extended Defect Warranty (I think that's 8yr/80,000 miles - but check your Warranty & Maintenance Booklet to confirm).
This design change has been incorporated into the 2023 OutbackXT/OBW/LeggyXTs as of starting VINs P3008074 for Leggy and P3154038 for OB, and into the 2023 Ascents as of starting VIN P3409668.
This is only changed under warranty if your weld has already cracked (and you're still under one of the relevant warranties).
