I wish i had a bigger market here in my country (Philippines) the best i can sell here is like every other 3 months. and i have to be careful not to saturate the market. also like dean i prefer to sell wholesale not retail. It just does not make sense to have people come over buy fish there and compete with local fish shops. I prefer to support them.

But do you really want to get both males and females from the same place? Aren't they likely to be related and therefore not compatible as breeders lest you increase the health problems in the fish? Genetically speaking, it's not a smart choice.

I have guppies in a 40g and they breed like crazy and a lot of my babies make it to adulthood thanks to a heavily planted tank. I noticed a lot of the fish stores in my area seem to get bad batches of guppies more often than not. I really want to get into parrot fishes and clowns so if I can use the guppies to fund those 2 projects that’d be a win.

I trade in my fish to a local garden centre. At first I felt ripped off. Now I get a better deal with the owner. Shops are taking a risk as the need to know your fish are healthy as it can damage their reputation if your fish aren't good quality. I always ask how many of my fish died, do they have any left. Build up a good rappor.

I've been selling sword tails I bred since I haven't set up a propper breeding setup I just put the babies in a 50L tank so they took 5 months to get to the right size I had 2 spawns in there and it totaled to 60 fish

fascinating. Not a failure if you learned something! for round 2 maybe either put in a tank without fish that will eat it, or put a barrier like a net around the roots, and try with plants with less or no roots established so that it is less liekly to be shocked by the changing environment

Probably helps to live somewhere that allows posting animals for sale or adoption, if I even post a bug I get banned from everything. Canada really sucks in the biggest way, everyone is poor here. Everyone! Soon we will be like Brazil or Africa where only the immigrants own homes and don’t live in shacks.
