I wouldn't be selling any of those zebras but i would be looking to trade some fry with other breeders just to keep good genetics, i used to breed royal whiptails back in the day and after trading some fish got better results across the board

Honestly what I love about you is you're not in this for the money. Here you are sitting on some pretty pricey fish but your passion for them outweighs the want to sell what you've worked so long/hard on. I commend you, and those babies are absolutely precious!

I had similiar experience with L236 plecos, i was "greedy" on the first spawns, took them to breeder box inside same tank, as long as i paid attention it was fine, but i also had some trouble with mold on eggs, fry deaths etc, currently i am just letting the male do his job, i have 4 adult ones, 1 male, every 2-3 weeks there is new batch of fry, i just take the grown ones (3cm+) every few months to a grow out tank for them and its working wonders (they go like 10-20 fry per batch)

When I designed my setup I went with a sulfur nitrate reactor not to have the nitrate peaks between water changes. So while the tank was in its first 2 months before i added the zebras my nitrates red 60 ppm now after 3 months of a mature reactor my nitrates are zero! I’ll implement daily water changes with the hope to get my Golden nuggets to show spawning activity . Originally the tank was for them I have since added other xingu species.

I'm glad the zebras are taking off for you. I use warmer water all the time to trigger spawning in my fish room. In the winter my tanks are in the low 70's around 22C. So I use warmer water during water changes and it often triggers a spawn.

I have noticed thst fish often respond to water changes particularly well when there are atmospheric pressure changes. I am not trying to spawn but whenever there is a big storm that comes through and I do a wter change I get eggs everywhere. I live in a somewhat drier area so it is really obvious.when it happens.
