At 45:33 screenshot it’s pretty wild! So none of the tanks are drilled? Gravity elbow syphon and maybe redundancy as a backup? I have watched an older video on the channel but it’s now next level cluster stuff! Patience is a virtue.

The constantly having to restart siphons when there are so many better methods reminds me of the owner of the fish store I work at. Temporary solutions that aren't quickly replaced with the actual solution have a tendency to accumulate over time and become load bearing lol. He has so many special "rules" about our system at the store that have developed over 30 years. Almost makes you think you should reset a fish room every 5 years or so to avoid this kind of build up of kludge.

If you don't think that everyone with a fish room doesn't have a little "Mad Scientist" in them just look at Greg's PVC game. That would give the average person epilepsy just looking at. Nick after this USA tour of all these fish rooms it's like going to "Tropical fish college" in the states.

I use flow restrictor for each tank on my setup. So there is just one pipe system that runs for an hour a day and I can adjust the amount of water change for every particular tank with flow restrictors with particular flow rate. By doing that I do not have a web of pipes.

I was wondering why Odessa barbs disappeared from the hobby 14 years ago. I had one lonely male who decided all the other fish in the community aquarium were his enemy. I couldn't find any tank mates for him and had to euthanize him because he was causing too much havoc.

Been so excited for this tour since the podcast! 🩷🐟 Greg seems like a great guy who’s been round the block a few times and has a lot of life experience. He also seems to have a very obsessive personality and I think whilst this can be seen as a downfall for some people, when you learn to utilise it like Greg has it shows the great things you can achieve in life. Although I can never order from him since I’m in the UK, his customer service model alone would bring me to his store. I’d rather save up and buy fish from somebody who really appreciates the business and has put years of passion into their fish. I wish you continued success. If all businesses ran with the same attitude the world would be a much nicer place!
