The channel has done good deeds before, just look at the recent dumping incident. Perhaps a local investigative reporter would like to do an expose on "The latest wave of child endangerment by affluent and entitled parents"? (I use this A&E phrasing because I've noticed that the less expensive the boat going through Haulover, the higher the chance the kids have vests on.) Start a petition for applied enforcement, perhaps? I would think that if a few thousand people sign a document saying "we're tired of seeing kids at risk in these turbulent waters, start ticketing" the CG and local LE might feel compelled to do something.

Most of the issues stem from zero boat knowledge, ill equipped and poorly maintained vessels and operator error. Big expensive boats being operated by folks who have never operated anything as big and complex as a modern high speed boat. There is far more than meets the eye when one sets out on coastal waters and failure to have full knowledge of your vessel, rules of navigation and understanding of the many conditions and ocean can throw at you will set you on a course of destruction.

0:58 Karen taking the time to empty her beer before police comes to help... At 3:45 the teenager screaming at other boat, but it has nothing to do with the wave. The current is the problem. Overall, i would suggest everyone puts on his life jacket, stops drinking boose, and nobody stays in front of the boat while going through this canal.

Oh that's a nice big easy to find motor yacht, if I were one of those engineers or divers I suspect I might find said yacht ad remove it's zincs, maybe leave a line wrapped about it's props and rudder and plug any salt water inlets in the hull. Do not pull this kind of crap if you have a big expensive boat vs engineers or divers, there will be consequences

The word Captain implies a professionally qualified person not in these cases partying novices and idiots. No one wearing a life jacket either. Let's party on... to the end.

It looks like that boat is not looked after to well, A lot of algae on the underside and maybe blocking the water inlet hence the engine will over heat - maybe

Interesting. the deep Vee hulls clearly handle the inlet better so long as you know how much power to use, the shallow V's get a lot of bounce. The unidentified vessel with it's displacement hull did OK but would have done better with a bit more power in the engine department, but they kept a dry boat.. The Magnum 50 showed everyone how to do it, but you need to have confidence to enter any inlet at that sort of speed I'm guessing they are a local. The pontoon boat did ok going out but coming back in showed the deficiencies of it's skipper
