Hot take: no one. Let’s not have Joker in this universe, it’s an overdone part for a character that has been saturated and exhausted out of their exciting potential. Even the Phoenix films have nothing to do with what the character is about, despite their obvious quality. Let’s make way for the other 86 interesting Batman villains.

@@Grim5734x Honestly out of the 3 best Superman films, which are Superman, Superman II and Man Of Steel, only one features Lex Luthor. I thought the last Pattinson film was the best Batman flick ever made and it didn't involve Joker other than a short unnecessary cameo.

I think Javier Bardem would be an interesting choice. We already know he can play a deranged killer from his role in ‘No Country for Old Men’. Plus, he’d be coming off of a stellar performance in Dune.

I would not be opposed to bring back Cameron Monaghan because he got to play versions of past Jokers in Gotham so I would like to see what his own version of the Joker would be.

Willem Dafoe always struck me as a natural for the role. Have you seen his face, the shape of his jawlines, that sinister smile of his he flashed in his role as Green Goblin?

I know he’s on the younger side, but I think Austin Butler’s Feyd Rautha was a perfect audition for the Joker.

I'm surprised none of you during the show had in mind to mention Tom Hiddleston. Now... I know that his bond with Loki is very strong and difficult to forget when watching him after so many years in the character, BUT, if you look at Joker's features from the animated series, I think that Tom has already all the attributes and very little need of make-up to give us one of the craziest smiling Joker. A perfect real world translation from the cartoons and the video game, which would still appear as a new direction I believe. I'd like to hear your opinion on this nominee. Thanks.

You really missed Bill Skargard, you mix his Peniwise and the crow with his roll on John Wick and you have the perfect Joker, also he work with the Director already

Rami Malek. If you ever watched Mr. Robot, even if you didn't end up liking the show, you can't deny how much of a disturbed, intelligent, and wild card character he played as Elliot Alderson. This dude is phenomenal and has amazing acting chops but he isn't being given the right roles. Though to be fair, any actor who ends up playing this role, will certainly benefit if they have the right director.

Because it’s literally the most basic fancast that’s been talked about to death and frankly lacks any imagination.

Jim Carrey is perfect as the new Joker, he's got the personality, the humor, the sinister, everything. He would also be perfect to play as Carnage for Spider Man of the MCU.

I know I’m probably the 792,956,201st person to say this but I would love Bill Skarsgard for Joker!!!! From IT to John Wick 4, I feel like he could easily pull off the genius yet sociopathic aspects of the character!!! Also especially with John Wick 4 where he is wearing all those nice suits and just seeing all those wide shots where you see his lanky build, I can’t help but get severe Joker vibes. Also another name that I can’t help but wonder (even though it may be either just crazy or crazy enough to work) is Michael Pitt!!!! Absolutely loved how psychotic he was as Mason Verger in Hannibal and I feel like he can easily bring that energy to Joker (even though I’m not sure what his doing now).

I truly loved this segment. You guys throwed some really interesting choices mostly because, they're serious/dramatic but usually more perceived as the "good" guys. Or, kind of having that sort of image. I think my favorite among all that hadn't really crossed my mind is JGL. I would've loved to have seen Jim Carrey!, but I think his time has gone same with C. Waltz (in terms of age and recurring importance). Two more names I'd like to throw in are, the terrifying Ben Foster! And also Cillian Murphy...but Walton (who i thought totally deserved an oscar nomination for The Hateful Eight) would bring something reallly new and unique. 👌 Again loved this segment

William Defoe! He might be too old but come on! He was born to play him. I would want him to play the classic Joker too, not even Jack nailed that. I always thought that Caesar Romero's Joker in the old Adam West show but in a more serious realm, without the slapstick, and be truly murderous would be terrifying. Have Defoe do THAT. Maybe more reserved at times. I have yet to see the true Joker on the screen. Heath was the closest in a weird way for me, but of course a bit of grunge rock. Walter Goggins would be great, or even Timothy Olyphant! Will Poulter I can see. Adam Driver would be a stretch but interesting.

Ray nailed the casting, if they wanted to cast the Joker from The Dark Knight Returns. I could see Viggo Mortensen playing that older, severe, full on psychopath version of Joker.

Those actor is great but to be a Joker im not sure, my fancast for 1. Bill Skarsgard his face would be perfect for Joker, his villain character also good in JW4 and IT as Pannywise and for dark Joker take a look him in a new The Crow, man his perfect as a Dark Joker! 2. Austin Butler ofc when you look his performance ini Dune 2 man thats a Joker for me. and the last one, why not 3.
