Hi! I just wanted to chime in, as someone who loves using sebum only on my hair - along with genetics, diet and water intake may play a major part in not seeing/feeling as much sebum as you’d like. I have also seen and experienced that increasing consumption of oils/fats and dairy can make your sebum come out much much thicker - similar to what she has collected from her scalp. But you should know this sebum thickness she is showing is usually a product of multiple layers of sebum + a congealing and hardening product, grease, which transforms your sebum into a very strong pomade. Your sebum will not look like this if it’s the first or second layer. So don’t feel discouraged! And lastly, water temperature and hardness can affect how easily your sebum distributes. Some people feel something sticky on their scalp and think it’s just sweat, but it might be your sebum! If you have just started and are applying water to your scalp everyday, you may actually be rinsing away your sebum before you get to see it! So if you’re just starting out just be careful with how you handle the sebum on your scalp and drink plenty of water! 🤗

Any more and my hair gets dry regardless of how many times I re-moisturize and it itches and stinks like a mf. I double shampoo too. It’s the only way to ensure my scalp and hair is clean and it allows my conditioners to penetrate better. I don’t know why so many people are scared of shampoo when you can easily replace the moisture with a good conditioner.

Yes. Like things attract like things. In skincare a cleansing oil is used to remove oil from the face and rinsed off. Then a facial cleanser is used to remove any excess oil. You can apply this same principle to hair. A pre-poo will help to break down the oil and grime in your hair, and shampoo will help to further remove it. I still shampoo twice because it’s said the first shampoo doesn’t get all the buildup off hence why the first shampoo doesn’t lather as much as the second shampoo.
