    👋🏾 Sis! I detangled my low-med density hair a few weeks ago and realized I lost HELLA Hair! You are the second YtTr with BEAUTIFUL hair that I've heard this from!!! My roots are SOO Dense and I genuinely feel like I could have the Dense hair I desire if I just Leave my FREAKIN' roots Alone. They aren't even tangled (they are wavy) and my Crazy Butt bought heavily into the notion that shou5be combing them to lay them down LOL!!! NO MORE!!!

    Hello I am Alex! Conditioner is not needed. The grease, oil, and/or butters will condition the hair. A lot of conditioners contribute to breakage because of the ingredients; silicone being #1. Thanks for your comment~

    @@mrs.mississippi5035 If silicone is the issue then why not just use a silicone-free conditioner? Silicone-free conditioners are much better to use because the moisturizing agents in the ingredients will penetrate the hair shaft whereas silicone will only sit on the hair shaft.

  • @mrs.mississippi5035

    @mrs.mississippi5035

    Hey! Yes, the longer you wear the afro the more breakage you will experience because the hair dries out faster. When the hair dries out, the ends tangle tighter and tighter together causing knots. I wet my hair thoroughly with warm water before attempting to break down my fro to avoid a lot of breakage. This also applies to puffs, and afro puffs. Thanks for your comment!

    Thank you for the info. Now it explains why breakage happens at the roots. I just took my daughter hair down from a undo twist with rubber bands and because it is late, I couldn't wash it. So I use hot water mixed with olive oil and focus on the ends. I didn't use a comb at all for detangling. When I say a dime size shedding was amazing. I use to do this and along with blue magic grease and got away from it. Now I have to return back to my first love. Again thanks for info.

    Only a few minutes in the video. I watched a previous video of yours and you said you don’t comb your roots and I think that’s what my issue is. My roots are super thick and I have thick hair regardless. I struggle always combing the roots and I conclude that I’m breaking the hair in the process because I be rushing that comb or brush through them roots. I have so much hair tho, I commend you for the patience you have. Thank you for the clarity. I’ll try it because I want my hair to be even from root to tip and i saw that your daughter for all the 30+ inches she has is even from root to tip. Sorry for the long comment.

    Hi, No I don’t focus on combing the roots because there shouldn’t be any tangles up there. The only time there are tangles is when there is a lot breakage at in the root area. When a comb does touch that area it’s super fast because I’m just trying to position the hair vs detangle the hair. Let me know if this is helpful!

    @mrs.mississippi5035

    Hi MsFlawsSoPretty! No, sometimes I will just rinse with warm water. On those days, I haven't and don't use hair grease because the grease needs to always be shampooed out. For example, day one, I'll shampoo and deep condition my hair. When I apply the deep conditioner, I put my hair in twists. After sitting under the dryer for about 30 to 40 minutes, I leave my hair in the twist, and then I lightly rinse the deep conditioner out with cool water. The goal is to not rinse all of the conditioner out, just the conditioner that I can see. Every 2 to 3 days, I'll rinse my hair and scalp with warm water ONLY with the same twists, which consistently rinses out a little more of the conditioner. I keep doing this until it's time to use shampoo again. I know when it's time to shampoo again because my scalp I will be reeeaally itchy and I can scratch/scrape up the sebum with my fingernails. Be sure to check out that video. Rinsing with warm water cleanses some of the oil from my scalp, removes dust from my hair strands, and adds "FREE" moisture back into my scalp and hair. Let me know if you have additional questions. Thanks for your comment!

    Quick question! Since you don’t detangle your roots, are your roots not stretched and does your hair still grow fairly quick?

  • @mrs.mississippi5035

    @mrs.mississippi5035

    Cupcakeprincess Hi! My roots are still stretched when I wear it in twists. Regarding detangling, there are no tangles in the root area unless there is a lot of breakage at the roots. There may be a shed hair, but I’m able to pull it out when combing the ends. If I do use a comb on my roots, it’s really quick.... maybe one comb through. Stretching the roots means to pull the wavy roots out to elongate them. Let me know if you have additional questions.

    Mrs. Mississippi okay makes sense. My thickness and texture is very similar to yours. I detangle and wear my hair in 4-6 plats, washing once a week. My roots are still very thick and curly in the plats. My hair is moisturized. I’m wondering if I don’t stretch my roots with heat or do not do the plats tight, will it prevent growth?

    Mrs. Mississippi I put my hair in plats similar to how you do your daughter’s hair I moisturize every 3 days and my plats stay very moisturized. I only wonder if because my roots are not as stretched( I dont use any heat and roots are very coarse and thick, I dont do the plats tight), will my hair still grow fast if the roots arent completely stretched out?

  • @mrs.mississippi5035

    @mrs.mississippi5035

    4 жыл бұрын

    Cupcakeprincess Putting your hair in braids is okay to stretch. I think our roots are naturally stretched, but due to the chemicals in the shampoo they shrink. Also be sure to “wash” your hair at least once a week; however, every 3 days is better because the hair and scalp dries out in that timeframe. Keep in mind, rinsing with hot/warm water works well. You don’t always have to use shampoo. You will have to use products that can rinse out with hot/warm water....grease and Shea butter does not. The more you only rinse with hot/warm water, you will notice your roots not shrink as much. Let me know if you have additional questions.

    Mrs. Mississippi Blue magic is the truth. I started using it about 3 months ago and my hair is finally holding on to its moisture and staying soft, minimal shedding and no more dryness. I also wash twice a week but the 2nd wash midweek I only cowash and reapply a small amount of blue magic. I also use a deep conditioner weekly, no leave in conditioner. Best twist outs with blue magic only.
