Great review bud! My dad is looking for a new hat, I have the T5MO and adore it, but I said to check out the LTM5 too. It looks great man, very similar to mine, but mine is cotton. Lovely scenery there! I miss the mountains now, must go! Cheers, Donny.

Great review, I too am a ginger or was lol! and I've been looking for a hat that will give me sun protection, although these are very expensive I'm seriously considering a purchase after this review, thanks :) Tim

Hi Tim, given how they are made, what from and the guarantee, they are not expensive IMO, but premium, (an important distinction- a sweat shop produced hat that falls apart and is uncomfortable form the go set it expensive)- Its still my go-to hat and I ware it all the time, will be using it this weekend to walk the Lyke Wake Walk, (the third time its done it)- just make sure you get the right fit, that's essential- like all good clothing, its an investment that pays off- Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

My olive LTM5 airflo has been the best hat I've ever owned.

Thanks for watching, glad you liked it- the sunglasses are an old pair of Julbo ones, I couldn't tell you the model- they make excellent outdoor eye-ware and they have served me well. The rope is a Hide by Buff, an absolutely excellent product, but sadly one they don't make anymore, (and I have never found a similar one). Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

Looks great but I need one for heat and rain like for tropical areas ? Does the mesh/vent make it so that when it rains it gets your head wet ?

Not that I have noticed ☺️ I use nikwax and it’s the best hat in rain I have owned (and I’ve owned waterproof ones that get very sweaty)- so while they are not fit storms they shed a shower well in my experience (as long as it’s proofed)- enjoy your outdoors time ☺️🏕🌀

What is the crown measurement. I need a short hat.

Have you done any multiday packs with the ltm5? I'm curious as to whether the back of the hat rubs against a fully loaded and cinched pack when turning your head to the side?

No, I don't think I have. Most of my backpacking is Autumn/Winter, so while I walk in those seasons with it, its not versitile/light enough to make the load in backpacking. Its the shorter brim, so I guess it depends on how your bags are packed etc. I would defo take it in spring summer, but I just don't tend to go then. Enjoy your outdoors time, Andy

Yeah, the stores around here only have the ltm6 and when I tried that on with a full pack it seemed like it was too long and would get it in the way, so I was curious if the ltm5 is short enough to solve that problem. My guess is that it will be, thanks for the insight and happy trails!
