Got fried on the Appalachian trail near my house yesterday after the leaf drop, bought the ltm6 today and had no idea how to wear it and would have never found the pocket! Thanks so much. Happy trails 🍁🍁🍁
My olive LTM5 airflo has been the best hat I've ever owned.
Excellent video. You answered all of my questions. I was on tilley's website today for an hour or more and had several questions during and after my viewing. Video well done. Thank you so much!
That was a great review, really thorough, but it would have been better if you had tried the hats on so we could see how they look!
Nice comparison. Picked up LTM6 on vacation when my son lost my hat, but I think I'd prefer LTM5. Tilley hats are well worth the up charge over budget hats. Good fit and attention to detail.
Great looking hats! Thank you for sharing.
What a great review. Thanks!!
Thanks for including the metric system (for 99.9% of the world)

A great comparison video. Helped me to make a buying decision.
Great review !
Great video
Good to see another vid
Great review Sir
I changed the cord and removed the piece of foam at the top. The hat seems cooler on the head. I don’t care if it does not float.
This older video got me thinking the larger number, the larger brim. Today, the LTM2 is now the BIGGEST brim size (i.e., bigger than LTM6), based on Tilley site specs.

I have a LTM2 and the LTM6. When I am hiking on the CDT I wear the LTM2 as the coverage is better. Same quality and a very nice hat. I enjoy them both.
I have one made in Canada and is nice
My LTM5 has excellent coverage. You can still sweat in it so the airflow feature only goes so far. But it's a good hat.

Well.... you can sweat even without the hat so it´s not entirely the ha to to be blamed.
Great video. The only thing I'd warn against is tucking the wind cord into the pocket. I tried doing that and the strong velcro inside really stuck to the cord and I damaged it when trying to pull it off.
99% of the time you don't need the string if the hat fits pull it out of the grommets and re tye it over the brim in the back. You can still use it in an emergency
great
I've owned four 25 years love them got a get another lost two .my fault great hats .
Excellent! Thanks.. BTW, what watch is that?
What about the knots, didn't see any ??
I have heard there are numbers on an inside tab that tells the date of manufacture. I see them but it must be in code because they don’t look like normal dates. Is there a code?
I just looked at my Airflo and there's snaps that you can fasten the brim to right above the headband if you're not worried about the sun protection aspect. When did Tilley eliminate the brim fastening snaps on these hats??? I have a regular Tilley Hat that also has the snaps. Just wondering...

This is a different model. The one with the snaps is the LTM3.
Can the rain enter by the mesh?
Looking at the ltm6 for fishing. Would you recommend the ltm6 or the paddlers hat?

Which ever has the larger brim. Adequate coverage is essential.
what parda saff fully youse from exactly?
What kind of hat review doesn’t include the hat on your head??
Hello! in the specs you listed both of them as olive green.. but the LT% looks like brownish? do the colors change that much over time?
@TheAmericanOutfitter

No, the colors do not change much over time. The colors listed are correct, but the two olive green colors do not match. They are slightly off. By the way, the LTM6 is much older than the LTM5.

Which way is the fron? Narrower top?
Any chance you can put the hat on your head in future reviews?

Hi, choose your specific hat size, it should fit slightly loose. All the best
Nice looking watch. Can you tell me what make and model? Thank you.

Hi, it's a Luminox Authorized Navy Use (ANU) A-4221
On Tilley's website the Olive LTM5 looks much darker than the Olive LTM6. Which seems to be the opposite way around from the hats you show. Maybe the LTM5 you have there is actually the T5MO?

Confirmed, it is model LTM5. It is not the organic hat.
How hot are these Tilly getting in direct sunshine in 40 degrees Celsius or 45 degrees Celsius? Like in semi desert locations. I have a farm in an semi arid location with such temperatures. I already switched over to the pith helmets from Village Hat Shop since these boonie hats are just way to hot and unbearable.
I have 5 Tilleys (T3 Duck, LTM6, LTM3 and 2 Mash-ups). All are made in Canada. Tilley is now manufacturing many models in China. I won't be a repeat customer any longer.

I just received a warranty replacement for a 20 yr old LTM3. Even though it was made in China it is identical to the old hat in every way. Same Velcro pocket in top, same brass snaps with maple leafs, identical construction and quality. No changes whatsoever. Happy boater, fisherman, golfer.
What about the LTM2??
Is that a Maryland accent I detect sir?
What color is the LTM5?

I did, but it looks so different at 6:50. The LTM5 looks a lot more brown. Has one been laundered more?
@TheAmericanOutfitter
5 жыл бұрын
Yes, the two colors are slightly off. They are both olive, but they are not of the same shade or tint. The LTM5 is grayish/green, whereas the LTM6 is true olive. The difference is not from washing.
I'd prefer actual review/opinion rather than listing specs available on the website.
Made in China now. I personally find this irritating. Plus, their sizing is inaccurate now. I ordered up one size and it is still way too tight. The sizes are inconsistent across the models, also. I have had one of my Tilley hats since the late 80’s and I am really disappointed in them now. Too bad.

Loco Raindrops check their website. It states “designed in Canada, made in China” I have 4 Tilley hats. All were made in Canada, but they were made over 5 years ago.

I just bought one after first seeing them 5 years ago. The fact they were made in Canada was what attracted me. Bummed when I got home and saw it was made in China. I didn’t even think to check because I never imagined.. hopefully it’ll hold out well for me.

Yep, designed in Canada & made in low-cost China. Another case of off-shoring of manufacturing jobs so greater profit can be made
What are the prices are they the same price ?

I think I'd recommend the Shelta hats over this
What do you do for the corrosion of the grommets? Asking for me. ⛑🧢🎩👒👑
Hot and heavy. Conditions have to be just right to wear them comfortably. And that is hardly ever in Texas. Money not well spent, for me.
Try them on so we can actually see what they look like. It's like showing us a coat on a hangar but not actually putting it on... 🙄
You can put your WEED in there!
