Just ordered one from Tilley. Can't wait!

As always, thanks for the video. I am always eagerly awaiting your next video! Thank you for uploading a hat video! Not many bushcraft stations here on youtube do clothing videos let alone hats. I feel that it is something often overlooked when dealing with shelter.

Great hat! I liked your observation of the use of dark colors in the field. As a member of a backcountry Search and Rescue team in central Idaho I personally have seen their limitations. Light colors in the summer and dark colors in the winter is a good rule of thumb. Great channel keep up the fine work!

I never thought I would watch, yet alone comment on a hat video, but great review. I too love Tilley hats. I live on Cape Cod and spend as much time on the water that I can. Like you said sizing is important, better a little loose than too tight. The straps are key, especially when under way or in windy conditions. The fact that they float helps too, I have lost my fair share of hats to Poseidon. I have a Tilley Endurables, great for what New England seas throw at you. The dark under brim helps with glare from the water on the sunny days we can get. Anyway, putting this hat on my Father's Day / Birthday list in hopes for this summer with thanks to your review!

This is a great hat, the back strap is quite enough to hold it on your head most of the time I wore the chin strap like 2 or 3 time in the 20 years+ i had one. great investment, great Canadian original product.

Which one is more breathable, the ltm6 or this one ? Nylon or cotton ?

I just bought my first Tilley hat, and I love it. In fact if it wasn't considered so weird I would get down and get busy with my Tilley hat. Just saying.

I measured my head and its 22.5 inches, what size should I get??

Family keeps giving me hats yet I don't collect hats. Now I wish they'd give me a Tilley especially one like that. They give ball cap styles yet the only hat I've ever bought is Fedora style leather for winter storms. Maybe someday a Tilley will show up.

Nice looking lid. I'm a hat guy as well, have a wall full in my bedroom next to the gun cabinet. I'm old school in that aspect. Never leave the house without your sidearm and hat. I'm going to have to try one of these out. Thanks for the review brother.

You will love these Tilley hats. They have a huge inventory of designs to choose from.

Is it the most comfertable version of the airflow hats? I tried on a tilley in a Gander mountain and fell in love. It is Not the same one that REI carries in a store. I want to find that same hat that felt so amazing. It was a game changer but I didn't write down the model number. At the time, I didn't know there are a variety.

This one is smooth as silk.. I own 5 Tilley hats and this one does feel the best. Make sure to get the next size up the hat is not meant to be tight on the head.

I will remember that. I have wanted one ever since that day I put it on at Gander Mountain. I need to go back and do some sizing. Even if they don't have the right one, They will have a variety of sizes to try so I can figure it out and order the right one.

I have the same hat,and it is great hat,very soft and light,but after year and a half started to tear.Now after 2 years there`s a lot of holes all over.Is there any similar hat but made from stronger material?Thanks

I would love to have one but I like to try them on first. Unfortunately, I can't find a retailer anywhere in North Louisiana, one of the great hunting and fishing regions in America. Maybe one day!

I believe it is the size of the brim.

I prefer the 1960's boonie hat. It has a larger brim and does the same thing. If I get hot I wet it down and it cools me off. And it keeps the rain out of my eyes. Plus you can get them for like 5 bucks at your local surplus store.

Looks like an LM6 I thought this was about LM4? Also, there is a vid here on KZread *Try "waterproofing Tilley hat) on how to apply wax to the hat to waterproof it. Works great. ps.Oh yea, the LM4 is cotton. Mine, the LM6 is nylon. Thanks.

How do you get the brim to bend down in the front?

+LeRoy Engle fabric won't be water proof but will protect you in a storm.

LeRoy Engle Tilley recommends spraying it with waterproof sealer to help with the rain. 3m makes a good product that you can buy everywhere

I can’t answer for the company at the time of the video they were made in Canada then the company had been sold and then purchased by another entity not sure what they’re doing nowadays. I’m just to gear a reviewer my friend not a company rep.

Tilley are now having hats made in CHINA, but they are still selling at the regular premium price. Please insist on a proper Canadian made Tilley hat. Perhaps we can reverse this downward trend before ALL their merchandise is made by the lowest bidder!

Seem like since the company has been sold things may have changed a bit. Sad to hear for sure.

Tilley sold their company so I dont think the same quality is there like it was, so Im on a mission to find some Original Tilley hats. The old original has a large label inside the hat where the new version has a small label.
