    God damn, this channel is underrated AF despite the fact that this channel shows what can only be seen in video games(tarkov etc) and shows what special ammos(which is incredibly hard to obtain) actually do to armors in real life. Hope you get more recognition Matt.

    @@BuffRANGEwhat do you think about haveing that lamination on both the front and back. Not just the back. Like you’d put the ceramic strike face in between 2 pieces of that lamination. Making it even a little bit more multi hit. Because it would keep even more of the ceramic stuck together instead of just laminating the back side and having all of the front parts of the ceramic crumble and break up and move/fall. Sticking it between two of those laminated pieces would help keep the front face part of the ceramic together better allowing the ceramic to stay in place so you end up keeping more of it in place giving much more structure and also possibly reducing the fragmenting from the ceramic.

    One thing I've learned from watching this channel for a while now is: "ammo selection hardly matters if your opponent is armored". Especially with the XSAPI last time, it seems like all but the absolute hottest AP rounds at close ranges are going to get stopped. Since real engagements are going to happen farther than 15 yards away at 90 degrees, if the enemy has the means, your round isn't getting through. The only penetration that seems to matter is either very new-fangled loads (Sig Fury AP) or helmet penetration capabilities. The body armor is stopping what you throw at it. Therefore just get what you can afford and train with it well so you can just put more lead on target.

  • @BuffRANGE

    @BuffRANGE

    Жыл бұрын

    That is a very good point to be made. 45' is all worst case scenario. distance and angle increase ones survivability. Sig's new 6.8 round claims to be able to do what I can do with advanced AP threats out to 400 yards... Claims anyways..

  • @TMega5612

    @TMega5612

    @@BuffRANGE If we ever get hands on that Sig round in AP it would be super cool to test. I doubt the claim, because right now it seems as ridiculous as saying that 9x39mm can defeat GOST V at 100 meters, which some sources claim. Sounds more like propaganda than anything else.

  • @BuffRANGE

    @BuffRANGE

    Жыл бұрын

    That's a tough one. The Militech RF2 and the 1092 G2 are on pretty equal playing fields now. The RMA does have true edge to edge, but the Militech is close. The Tactical Scorpion gear has a foam border, but has the BEST fragmentation containment of the 3. If you're budget minded, and can live with a little more backface deformation, choose the Militech. If you want the extra backface protection, and a USA made plate, go with the 1092 G2. If you want the lighter weight option, the Tactical Scorpion Gear III+ Extreme. I'm not sure if I helped or made your decision harder :O

    Oh also, great video as well. Very informative. Im torn between these and the hoplite 26135s for slightly more money/weight/protection. Something about getting 855a1 protection for the same weight as my current l210s seems awesome

    @@forestnfren8146 The 26135 in that sense would probably perform very nicely: kzread.info/dash/bejne/dp9qrsV9d62XYJs.html Just remember that it's not an 06 certified plate, and is using aramid as a backer.

    How in the freakin Hell did that M80A1 out of the 300blk penetrate the armor when it was the 2nd lowest Velocity round shot and it didn’t even make 2000fps. That is mind boggling. You’d think that it woulda stopped it. Especially when that same type of round being shot from the 5.56 and like monumentally way higher velocity and even above Spec Velocity and it still didn’t even make it through the armor plate. But lo and behold a 300blk loaded with a m80A1 projectile going Sub 2000fps will make it through the armor plate. I don’t understand

    The strike face has to destroy the bullet enough. In this case the penetrator for M80A1 is MUCH larger than the M855A1 penetrator. M995 is going 400 fps faster than M993, but will get eaten alive by most level IV plates. On the flip size, M993 will wreck level IV plates at velocities in the mid 2,500s :O

    Material used. This is common with all USA manufacturers. The material used in their 1155 is very simple. The material used in this plate is different, mainly the type of polyethylene which is more expensive. With the higher price comes lower weight (by 3lbs per plate)
